I recently decided to mix some USA Mix from madvapes with Xtreme Vanilla from Freedom Smoke USA. The flavor types are different but they are both 24mg strength. Not long after trying it I got a headache. Does mixing juices increase the strength or is mixing flavor types a bad idea? I use 24mg juices with no issue other wise.

I'm no expert on mixing juices but I'm pretty sure that if you mix 2 24mg juices together you still have 24mg in the new mix if both flavors were the same PG/VG. If the 2 juices had a different PG/VG % then you would probably end up with less than 24mg. People mix flavors all the time especially if they have a flavor they don't like and want to try and make it better. Somebody will correct me if i'm wrong I'm sure. :)

The mixing of equal strength liqs will result in the same strength liq. I don't believe mixing different flavorings should give you headache. One thing I noticed upon mixing my very first batch... I vaped like a fiend for over an hour! From that experience, I know that getting too much nic into your system will absolutely give you a headache. :p

I believe you are right.I mix mine all the time and I make sure nic levels are the same. Also that the PG/VG ratio is the same as well.Unless I want to cut the nic level down I either add more PG and get more taste if its taste I'm after.Or more VG if its more smoke look I'm after. If you add just more flavor that contains no nic, then I believe that cuts your nic level some too.I may be wrong but seems to make sense.

Awesome, thanks for all the help. I figured the strength would remain the same but I wanted to double check. For the record it does taste great. Lol. Might get me on a mad scientist kick and start mixing different stuff up.

You can buy a pile of flavors cheaply.
Hard to predict which flavors you'll like.
I don't care for black walnuts but like to vape black walnut...strange.

Downside of vaping flavors is wasting time and clogging wick faster than unflavored.

Vaping unflavored is great. The VG has a teeny bit of sweetness to it so it's not totally devoid of flavor, but it does make a great vape, and the exhale doesn't smell like anything so it's good for going stealthy. I DIY my liquids, and even though I get silly with flavors, I always keep a bottle of unflavored on hand.

if you are mixing juice with juice, you may want to try scubadan's excel juice calculator There is a spot on the excel sheet that is specifically for mixing premixed juice with premixed juice :) Extremely helpful indeed.

I'll never forget waiting for my first DIY stuff to come in the mail............I was mixing pre-mixed juice like a madwoman. lol

24 + 24 = 48 (False)
Just means more 24.
Try another small amount, see if you still get a headache. If so, discontinue use. Also... would be interested as to why.

All things being equal, all e-juices should be:

1. pg (and or) vg
2. nic (x mg's)
3. flavouring.

Mixing any of these items together will leave them inert. If the headaches persist that means there is an unknown chemical compound conflict that is causing the headaches. I would stop using the brands altogether should this happen again.

Cheers & vape on!
D.
