Mixing my own and get a burnt taste

I just started using an ecig again after 2 years of giving it up. It always ended up tasting bad and it's happening again. This time I thought I would buy some flavoring and mix the taste I wanted. The dark colored flavors are really bad at giving off a foul taste but they all seem to. This happens with any liquid I had tried two years ago also without making my own.

My nephew bought some premixed liquid from Gourmet Vapors and it works and tastes great. I ordered some today from there myself.

Does anyone know why I can't seem to mix it myself? I use about 2/3 unflavored PG and mix a little unflavored VG in and then add the flavor.

Maybe I just need to not suck it dry and if I do, I should clean the atomizer to get rid of that taste so it doesn't ruin the next cart. I don't know.

You know, I'm thinking that I'm going to try a cart mod that highping suggested and see if I can keep the juice on the atomizer. Now, if I can only get rid of that taste on my atomizer...

DIY flavors are very picky when it comes to the percentages of flavouring used. Try lurking a bit and checking out some of the more "well like"recipes and use them as a basis to start your own DIY's

It wasn't the flavors...I cleaned my atomizers and carts and did the mod that suggested to only fill the end of the cart with poly fill and the rest with juice and vape away. OMG the flavor is wonderful and lasts alot longer.
