I have some go to flavors I like. I buy 2 bottles at a time. What are the thoughts about mixing new and steeped juice to speed up a big bottle in the dehydrator?
All juice lives in dehydrator for a week. 4 hour heat a day.
Just to speed up steep. I use 100% VG. Being a thicker liquid heat will thin it down some. Makes it meld better than just sitting. Plus it seems to get rid of alcohol with caps off. It doesn't get as hot as crock pot or UC.
Just wondering about mixing. If it will speed up the new juice. Or it will need same amount of steep?
You don't hear Ernest and Julio Gallo talking about speeding up their wine, right? We should be the same way.... get enough or make enough juice so you can "set some back" in the cellar to age and mellow. Then at the right time and age we can break out that bottle of '10 Chateau de Vape and enjoy it..... ** I just couldn't resist and this was said with tongue in cheek..... **

Have you ever tried speed steeping it in a bowl of dry rice heated in the microwave? Just heat the rice to about 200 f. and nestle the bottle with the cap and dripper off it in the rice up to the neck and leave till it cools to room temp. depending on the amount of rice and liquid 2 to 4 hours. A word of Caution, check the temp of he rice with an IR or probe thermometer. The LDPE most of these bottle are made out of melts at somewhere between 236 and 250 f. I can vap Mt Baker the next day if I do this. I also air the bottle by squeezing it before and after. As always shake the heck out of when finished. Seems to work for me.
