BTW what ratio of Nic/PG/VG do you use? The mix I made that is steeping right now is 70% PG/ 30% VG/ 6mg Nic. I went 5% VFCT and the 1% TA.

"BTW the flavor of VFCT changes over time. It is tough to describe it. It gains a nice mellow sort of complexity after steeping."

I'll have to give that tobacco express a shot. I'm new to the DIY scene, but the flavour arts tobacco flavors I've tried are horrible!!

I need something good and new really bad. FA ain't doing it for me.

TobaccoExpress flavors that I have tried - 555 and DHill - are pretty good. I am gonna order a bunch more TE flavors soon. They do not unfortunately have a really prominent tobacco taste, but they also do not have those weird floral incense elements that many of the FA tobaccos seem to have.

Tobacco Absolute was way too try dry and grassy for me, and a pain to work with leaving the ring in the bottle and all. I cut it way down with 5% EM in PG/VG and started using drops of that. Since my dilution was around for a while I've found that it kind of ages like full mixes do. So if you cut it not only is it easier to work with, but after a while your cut down stock will have aged a bit and you can add more and more of it and have a mix that is vapeable after a day or so because the TA cut is already sort of "pre-aged" if you will.

FA Virginia is not bad. It is not very strong tobacco either but it does not have the nastiness that many other FA Tobaccos have.

You can also mix several tobaccos and sometimes get better results. I use a couple of different ones which by themselves are just nasty, but in small amounts mixed with another tobacco are not bad. I often use something like this for 3 mL juice:

5 Drops FA Virginia Tobacco (Primary)

then add

1-2 Drops Flue Cured Tobacco (ECigExpress AKA TPA AKA TFA) - nasty by itself but at this level it is not bad

and/or

1-2 Drops DK Tobacco (ECigExpress AKA TPA AKA TFA) - beyond nasty by itself but also OK at this level.

There are several additional flavors that while not tobacco seem to enhance the "tobacco experience" to some degree to my tastes at least.

I recommend the following tobacco "boosters":

Peanut Butter Flavor (ECigExpress Signature AKA TPA AKA TFA) ~ 2 drops per 3 mL Juice
Chocolate Flavor (FlavourArt) ~ 1-2 drops per 3 mL Juice

Coffee Flavor (ECigExpress Signature AKA TPA AKA TFA) - This stuff is way strong. I cut it by adding 10 drops to 3.5 mL 50-50 PG/VG. Heat and shake to mix good. Then use ~ 1 drop per 3 mL juice.

And of course a little Caramel (I use FlavourArt) is pretty much standard for tobacco style juices.

But I too, am still searching for that Holy Grail of good ole plain strong tobacco taste ...

Thanks man, that gives me a lot to work with. I like the idea of cutting and pre-ageing the tobacco flavors. I always let them steep and sit with the bottles nipple off for a few days after mixing and it does get better with time, but still not good enough.

What's the 5 percent EM you mentioned? I'm still new, not sure what EM stands for.

The flavour arts tobacco flavors I've been trying seem to have this ash tray taste to them... the Cuban one, the black fire one... the perique black tastes like pepper. Ash tray and pepper wasn't the flavor I was looking for, lol.

I don't know, I guess some people are into that I guess. And I only used half the amount everyone said to use.

Sorry not to respond sooner. I have not tried Cuban, black fire or Perique because many of these flavors already seem to funky or too peppery already. I don't see how people vape this stuff at some of the levels I've seen - I am on the low side with Tobacco flavors too.

EM is Ethyl Maltol. I get crystals and weigh them to make a 5% solution in 50-50 PG/VG then add 1 drop of TA to 5 mL of that. TA is way too strong to work with uncut IMO.
