Yes, I've got an ohm meter, actually I have 2, the 2nd one I got free at Harbor Freight. I've been using my SVD to check ohms. It can be a problem at times because I have to switch the bases which puts wear and tear on the silica etc. I'll use the ohm meter. Thanks for the info. Actually I ran out of NR kanthal, I was using 32g nickel NR. I'll try twisting a couple of pieces.
NR kanthal? you're not getting your wires crossed are you?

I agree with dw....hard to beat the ggts oddy base.

I have the adapter for the MKB that I got from SVC for 510 use. It it close to flush...just a hair under. But that's to use the gold cap. The ego adapter dw was talking about would probably be better. Either way, the airflow control doesn't work perfectly without the GGTS base...in my experience. The gold top is missing an important oring to create a seal, thought I'm sure one could be easily found and installed.

hi dos any one know if the adapter for the mkb or Smyrna 1 will fit on a real ggts or if any one knows if the mkb adapter is an 808 to 510?

There are two adapters available for the MKB, the older one screws into the MKB's 510 and extends it, the newer one for MKB screws onto the outside of the MKB"s 510 using 808/901 threading. The one made for GG will not work on the MKB as it threads on the ouside using 801 threading.
The earlier MKB adapter can screw into the GGTS but the newer MKB one will not fit GGTS.
The outside threads of the MKB's 510 is 808/910
The outside threads of the GGTS' 510 is 801

Hey, does anyone know the size for the O ring on the center pin? as well as where I can buy a spring to use mine in 18500 mode? I lost it quite a bit ago. I know someone posted springs from amazon somewhere on this thread, but there's so many pages now. Also if anyone would happen to have a spare brass piece for the switch..I may need it. Anyways, this thing is still amazing to me after so many months and even after all the mech mods I've bought. I always find myself grabbing this one. First fews months in 18350 mode, and now, I just have it in 18650 mode because it just completes the awesomeness in looks. Its been my daily since I got this awhile back.

I don't have any answers for the items your seeking, I just wanted to tell you I agree with the coolness of this set up, I've got the same thing in daily use. The MKB and the Hercules seem made for each other, perfect match and the Hercules CRANKS!

How about a description of the added parts?

The top started out as an extra top assembly to a Segelei 8w

I had to sand down the height of the cap so the 510 connector on the MKB would reach the top of the 8w cap

I also had to file down the nubs on the 510 connector so the attys/tanks would seat properly in the connection.

I shortened the floating pin while I was at it. Gained another 3/16'' in shortness

The o-ring helps the cap from turning, the threads were not a perfect fit.

I also fiddled with the bottom switch post a bit. I had a problem with the mod firing without pushing the switch. I found that while using a 2cent fuse that the fuse would touch the switch button locking nut on the inside of the tube.

I found some brass hollow brass tubing, a brass bolt that was close to the inside diam. of the hollow brass tube, and a bit of shim stock.
You can see the steps in the switch tube. I added some nolex and pushed it down in the center of the switch post. This raised the fuse away from the switch nut.
Sorry the pic didnt post to my PB.

I don't know if it has been posted already (thread is too long to read it all!) but i've seen in the past few pages talks about kick (or clone) working / not working etc

I tweaked my MKB-TS for kick 2 + 18650 and it's working beautifully (although it makes for one long flute mod)

here is how it looks

mk1.jpg

mk2.jpg

mine threads and works great & tight, but I needed to do some work on it so that a few milimeters could be saved (close to a centimeter, enough for a few more turns on the tubes)

1.- replaced the positive pin, i used the positive connector from a 510-510 extension

mk23.jpg

2.- removed the spring, cut the brass tube to which the spring connects, cut it to about 9 mm long, ran a hard plastic tube through it to the base (cut it from one of those cell phone screen removal tools), here is how it ended up

mk5.jpg

works great, always fires, tubes screw tight & does not wobble.

VERY large, but I can always drop a 18350 / 18490 if I feel like

hope that helps

Venerable Vaping has them listed under EHPro items.. They shouldn't call them MKB-TS... They are DHX-TS. (Tobeco-made) I'll be interested to see how they are. Especially since the vendor wrote:

Note: It is strongly recommended to use some type of lube/anti-oxidants on the threads to enable easy change of batteries and prevent galling/seizing. We cannot be responsible for cross threading due to not using a lube to prevent this.

These mods made a long trip from China and may have incurred minor scratches during the trip, these can be buffed out easily with polishing cream. The cream is also a great way to get a fantastic shine on the stainless steel.

They're letting them go for not much over the CoOp price I paid for one. No amount of Noalox made mine any better with the threading though.. As I posted before, it wasn't good.

It certainly looks like the Rainbow MKB-TS to me.
DiscountVapers had the same thing about putting something on the threads, come to think of it so did Stormy

They look identical.. Except the threading.. RH MKB-TS tubes will not interchange with my DHX-TS. I can't see why else they would have it listed under the EHPro items if it were not the DHX-TS.
