Hey Jim! I just discovered a really nice enhancement you could make to your DiD's. I dropped my D14 and must have broke the center tube threads off at one end. I haven't taken it apart yet as the center positive pin and nuts are holding it together perfectly fine right now.
But! This has now allowed me to rotate the entire center tank and I can put the wick hole where ever I want it. In my case I like it to line up with my switch button on my Provari. This got me to thinking. (yeah I know, what you're thinking)
Why not save a lot of time and money and get rid of the threading on the center tube at both ends and just use a nice heavy (almost press fit) post and pocket. Keep the O-rings at both ends and let the center positive post and nuts hold everything together?
1) This would save a ton of machining time (lower price?) by not having to machine threads at both ends of the center tube and into the top and bottom plates.
2) Would make the center tube stronger because you wouldn't have to remove as much material.
3) Give people the freedom to rotate the wick hole wherever they want.
Just a thought from my little brain while holding my broken little D14.
