Hello all, this is my first post here on this forum! Its good to meet you all. I'm a new vaper, only been vapimg for about 2 weeks now, however I just started having an issue with my relatively new Kangertech cupti. Whenever I start to hit the mod the flavor is full and normal, however after about a mintue of the mod being in use I start to get a burnt taste. I've tried several different new coils and each one has the same issue. However when I unscrew the chimney and the device says "Atomizer yes/no", the device begins to function normally again but it always goes back to the burnt taste again. It does it no matter the wattage or temperature.

Is this an issue with the mod itself? Do I need to buy replacement parts or a mew mod altogether? Or am I just making some sort of dumb mistake and its a quick fix? Any sort of information would be helpful. Thanks guys!

I suspect wicking issues. You say it starts out normal, but after a minute or two it goes south, yes? I will bet the reason is while the machine is sitting the wick gets full of juice, but when you pick it up and start hitting it, you are burning juice faster than the wick can replace it so it starts to dry hit in short order. What is the PG/VG ratio of your juice, if you know? Try poking a hole in the wicking ports of the coil with a needle and "fluffing" the cotton you see there.Welcome to the board

Just yesterday! I tried three different new coils and I'm still getting the same burn taste after a few minutes of usage
Then you’re burning them soon after you put them in. Perhaps your wattage is too high or you’re not properly wetting you coil

Thanks for the welcomes! I think this might be it. The VG is 75 and the PG is 25 so it seems to make sense. Poked a hole in the cotton as suggested and I think I may have poked it a bit too deep, now the coil seems completely clogged haha. But thank you for the advice! If it happens again I'll know what to do.

Won't hurt to poke the coil at every change. Those Kanger XXOCC coils are famous for struggling with thick juices. Another trick is to let go of the button a second or two before you stop inhaling. The vacuum helps draw more juice into the wick.

You might also want to check your airflow settings and open them up a bit more. Sometimes wicking gets clogged when chain vaping and more air can help with that issue. If your wattage is high, it is more likely for the coils to get burned. Not sure what wattage you are using, but recommended wattage is printed (in tiny letters) on the side of your coils, might want to look at that and compare it to what wattage you are using.

Best of luck, I think you'll quickly find the right amount of poking the cotton to give you good wicking and stop your coil from burning. I have to use max VG juices, and the tip about drawing more juice into the coil after stopping hitting the fire button may be very helpful. I use tiny little BVC coils with max VG and I don't have wicking issues at all, after starting that particular practice.

Good luck, hope it works out!
