I have to wear reading glasses now..especially when modding!..but some I've seen come in really cool cases that would be perfect to carry a cig. My doom when it comes to decorating mass produced batteries and attys is this: the more work I put into it and the more I like it the faster it will stop working!!! I have tons of supplies here like crystals and bead caps all ready, but I stick with the nail decals. What's fun with this is I decal the attys, cart tips, and the smallest glass dropper bottles to match by flavor..

I'm supposed to have bi focals to...but I just keep putting them off!
Michele, just get some reader's, the bifocals just will get in your way, I couldn't stand them. Actually made me physically ill to wear them. The Doc said I would get used to them. I told her to get 'em out! Never wore those glasses anyway. But also have found (this is the reason for the multiple's) they were always somewhere else than where I needed them, so got a lot of them and posted them on duty in several areas, saves a lot of walking around looking for them. Darn. HTGO (hell to get old) :grr:
Loved this mod Chic Thread. Here we go, those 'mad modders' can just put this in their 'to do' lists, trying to make a PV look like a double-barrel shotgun to me is just silly stuff. THIS however is serious!
MK love the picture. I would post one of 60's era but my original husband took all the pics and forgot where he put them. So am missing about 20yrs of pics. He should have been off'ed, I swear would have been cheaper in the long run. What was I thinking
Kelly79, beautiful, keep them posted. Are those nail jewels on there??

Yes they are, I have to wait awhile to get some jewels and stuff in the mail, (I used to do beading and jewlery making but it's been years and my stock hasn't been replenished), when I get some more mods done will post more pics. Gotta get some more batts to work with too lol.

Kate, I was diagnosed with glaucoma at the tender age of 39 or 40. Not a soul in the family has ever had it, don't know why I turned out so lucky. After two surgeries, I seem to be in ok shape. My eyesight while certainly not the worst, is progressively getting there. I have been looking for readers like you suggest, however, I can't seem to find some that I like. I'm not a vain person by any stretch of the imagination, but some of those readers look like crap, and if I'm gonna spend $15.00-$30.00 on them I'd like to not look like Mrs. Magoo! LOL

Gotta say I've enjoyed the thread myself, and I'm excited to see what we all come up with. I kinda agree with the other lady--I don't wanna put TO much work into something that will eventually fail and need to be replaced, but I think this little "upgrade" shouldn't be too difficult. I'm looking forward to the cosmetic modding pics!!:D:D

I know they make decorated sleeve that go on batts. I am wondering why we couldn't come up with a sleeve that slips on and off for charging and to change batts. It could be clear or not as long as it was decorated. To cover the atty would be tricky..gotta line up the air hole/holes.

Take a look at these:

silicone sleeves like the ones they use as caps on the 901 carts would be cool, just slide on and off tubes.

Now, that is just too damn cool!!!!

That is good looking! I would wear it in a heartbeat! A new business is born!

Thanks, it's comfy to wear too they have those hook eye connectors in all kinds of designs (even cats) The donut I bought years ago but never used, it's carnelian which is one of my favorite stones, but I couldn't figure out a good way to use it, now I have :D. Hell, if they don't take away our e-cigs I just might start doing things like this for a business. A few years ago I was working on setting up a beading business then we moved to a location with high taxes and license fees (MD). I have the skills, I even know how to go about it, and with flat rate envelopes shipping out of AK is a lot more reasonable than it once was.

Soduku, yay you! So did you get the trap to work or what? I invited 2 more but I have been really tired the last couple of nights..no trapping. Thanks for taking up the slack! I try to find ones who have made a nice post or seem to be helpful. I skip the ..shall we say..ify ones. You guys found us anyway! :p

The circles (donuts) can usually be found in lots of different stones. You can also get faceted versions in circle, oval, triangle, diamond, and square all of which would work for this purpose.

The one in the pic is a 36mm and is pretty heavy since it's gemstone, a smaller one would work just as well.

Gemstone Donuts

Crystal donuts: ovals

Crystal donuts: round

Crystal donuts: round2

Crystal Donuts: triangle

Crystal donuts: square

There are a lot of other pendant focal components that will work too, like coins with a open center.

I got my rims in yesterday.

Results: It does look very cool, and the space between the rim and the e-cig (it dosen't fit flush, leaves about a 1 mm gap between the e-cig and rim, good for the autos, not necessary for the manuals, but unavoidable) lets you be able to see the light while vaping. It can be a bit tricky to get everything to sit right, might wanna use tweezers, I repeatedly glued my fingers to it and each other, thankfully the loctite is not instant bond. Given the gap between the cig and rim I think a short non-flatback crystal could be used as well. might order a few and give it a shot.

I will post a tutorial when I have time to take some pics and write it up. All in all though it really takes just a minute or two.

a single laptop skin will make lots of e-cig skins and they're made to handle being on a surface that reaches up to 140degrees, removable and reusable supposedly w/ no left behind adhesive. They even have ultrasuede ones in several colors, and can be made custom (make the graphic repeat at perfect e-cig size intervals).

Love this idea, 'cept the graphics are so large, I don't think that you'd be able to tell what exactly it is you'd have on the e-cig....???? What do ya'll think?
