I've taken draws as long as 7 or 8 seconds. I'm sure the 10 sec. cutoff is for accidental 'pressure fires', but even 4 or 5 seconds of firing without a draw unsettles me.
I swear I'm the only vaper that takes pulls well over 10 seconds...

I sometimes like long draws too. I solve that by flicking the power button off then in the middle of the draw. I've had the old school mods fire accidentally before, so I can appreciate the the auto cutoff. Fortunately, I never started a fire but have melted a few holes in some nice luggage bage.

When I vape at 7 - 8 watts I hit the 10 second cutoff regularly. I have got in the habit of letting the switch go for a split second and hitting it again before that happens so I don't have to wait for the mod to let me vape again. I don't worry about the batteries because at the wattages I vape the batts won't overheat no matter how long they stay on for.

Atties can get too hot for safety though, but I've never had that happen and I used to carry a Pico 75 in my pant pocket all day at work. That also takes a lot longer than 5 seconds. Mech mods don't go into my pockets. If I pack a mod for travel, or somewhere it could start a fire if it gets too hot I shut it off or take the battery out.
