So I was having lunch at Chili's in a suburb of DFW that still allows smoking in restaurants. I was enjoying a few vapes from my eGo while waiting for my lunch to arrive.

I was asked to move to the smoking area of the bar with my PV. Even though I very patiently explained what a PV was and offered a card, they were adamant and I didn't make a stink about it. (pun intended)

I didn't go to the smoking section, just put my PV away but it got me to thinking.

I want a mod that looks nothing like a cig now. Have you seen the new coffee cups that look like starbucks cups but they are ceramic? That would make a great mod housing if you really didn't want anyone to know that you were vaping.

How about a digital camera PV or a cell phone PV?

I want other ideas of everyday items that could be modded and no one would have a clue.

how sad that the general public is so uneducated and naive that we have to even think about "stealth" vaping

In all fairness to business owners and their foot soldiers (waitresses, bar tenders, cashiers, etc.), they have enough to do without making our problem their problem. If I were a waiter balancing three steak dinners on two hands, I'd be in no mood to deal with anyone's explanation of propylene glycol vs. tobacco, vaporization vs. incineration and water vapor vs. smoke. Look, pal, whatever you're doing looks like smoking. Do it over there.

My graciousness does not extend, however, to the FDA. Those guys have plenty of time--so much of it they can't find a better thing to do than rip the PVs out of mouths that previously held the analogs they'd been smoking for decades.

I felt sorry for the waitress. She seemed embarrassed and uncomfortable and I didn't argue with her request at all. She was also very polite and understood that it wasn't smoking but was afraid that the other patrons would not understand.

My battle isn't with a chick running her ... off for less than min. wage :)

I also don't want to have to deal with this situation during my lunch. That's why I'm going to find a mod that I can use anywhere without having to explain, even if I have to make it myself. :)

I agree, and VG tends to hang in the air much like smoke. Using PG, I was able to stealth vape and was never questioned. But I didn't need to blow plooms of vapor. Best not to force them to make a policy.

Amen! Why ya think I dont live in Cali? I love Texas and everything Texas-from the state pride, politics, tough laws, death row, Castle doctrine, friendly folks, and you can still smoke analogs if you want at any of my town's restaurants, and even walk into the fillin' station with a lit ciggie, and our drive-through beer barns and drive-thru daquiri/margarita barns. Life is good in Texas but keep it a secret. Yall Californians I hear have already ruined Colorado, Montana and some other states in the West.

Just be thankful--you Texas cowgirls, you--that you at least have the smoking-section option. If our much-beloved California politicos ever get their way, I won't be able to vape in my own home.

I do tend to agree with when in rome. We lost our right to smoke in public places in Ohio a few years back. Because this is my replacement for the analogs I do not publicly (ie publicly draw attention) vape.

I have however stealth vaped incognito in a multitude of places, but mainly because my units are small and they do tend to look like pens. I don't think I want to tote around something as big as my cell phone, does that make any sense?

Wonder if the cameras in any of the stores I've been in have seen that vapor leak slowly out from my lips?.......he he he

I don't want to constantly have to explain or account to strangers about it all the time. It's not a prohibited activity and it is my business unless I decide I want to make it someone else's business.

I'm thinking a small travel coffee mug with a "straw" that you vape out of. It would be really cool if the switch was set into the handle.
