OK everyone I know you have seen similar posts before, but I need help & I don't want to waste my money. I need a mod (my first) but my specifications might be tricky. 1) It needs to have a good battery life, all day if possible. 2) It need to be pocket friendly. 3) It has to be reasonably priced. I'm not too concerned about a digital screen. It can be a tube or box, but it has to accept EVOD BCC's Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Well, for all but the low cost part, a Provari fits the bill. Yes one will cost you, but, grab an ego adapter for it and, the extension cap, and, it will do everything you want. IMHO, it's worth the price, they are pretty tough and, reliable and, Provapes does stand behind them. They have protection for nearly anything that might happen (overheat, accidental button press while in pocket, etc...)

Mine has fallen form horseback several times, even more times out of my pocket, and once off the roof of my house and, still works perfectly, and lasts all day (16-18 hours) with the larger batteries.

With the adapter I can use anything that is either ego or 510 threaded on it, and of course I can adjust it to give the best vape whatever juice and delivery device I choose is capable of giving.

Baring that, there are some good lower cost PVs but, I don't know if they deliver on the longevity or durability like a Provari. Hopefully others that have them will chime in here and let you know how well they do.

This looks promising, however I have read on some sites this will not work with some EVODS. Has anyone had problems with this?

Center pin height issue on some units and/or simple pin pull on evod. Others have reported no problem using Evod. You will also find this with Sigelei, eVic, Vamo and any other device equiped with Ego threading. Seems Kanger when to far the wrong way in reducing pin height on all the Bottom coil units.
Never poses a problem for me, simply adjust.
Provari - no problem - no Threading to mount, mounts to Adapter, adding to length.

@Op
Not sure your request are to realistic as requested.
Pocket Friendly issues
Comfortable Weight?
Acceptable bulge?
Type of daily activity?

All sorts of things come into play.
Compact and comfortable is normally shorter and a bit lighter. All Day = more battery reserve. Larger and heavier.

The MVP is a solid addition and was my first VV mod. I find it very pocket friendly, but I almost always wear cargo shorts. I also prefer the Protank over the evod, as I like the added capacity. You really won't find much more battery capacity in a box unit (the Groove had it beat out, but has been recalled). The only drawback is the batteries are not replaceable... once they're shot you discard the whole unit. I love mine for the simplicty of not having to change batteries, and on a full charge it will last me a couple of days. It's a good, simple introduction to what a VV unit can do, and will serve as a nice backup unit if you get some other mods down the road.

C'MON- the person asked for a low cost solution and the first suggestion is a provari? what color is the sky where you live? do provari owners go to sleep and like "invasion of the body snatchers" wake up and now everyone MUST get a provari? yes, its yadda , yadda, yadda, but there are plenty of low cost devices that will work for an evod WHICH IS WHAT HE/SHE ASKED FOR. Itaste mvp, zmax mini(sigelei better than smoktech), smoktek varicool box mod, and the list goes on and on. most a third of what an overpriced provari cost and will do the job as good or better-more pocket friendly and some with more features(vw). give it a rest when someone asks for LOW cost answers. later on they can decide to step up to a provari or something better.

I just got my MVP a few days ago and couldn't be happier. Haven't had to charge it yet. Kept it in my front jeans pocket at first, then found a cell phone belt holster that was just the right size for it, but that was a preference thing and not because it wasn't pocket friendly. Vapes great. Have had no problems with clearos working, and I got it for $55 on iVape.net. They put a coupon code in the product description that brings it down to that price. Bear in mind it's my first step up from eGo's and there's so much stuff out there I haven't tried, but this unit will do me for a good long time I think.

I knew Provari would come up & I would like one. The only problem is I am married..lol. I have spent a lot of dough in my 5 mos. of vaping, ego batteries, various tanks, e-juice. You know chasing the perfect vape. 20120723122823861_s087.gif I am almost there I just need to find a stealthy mod that will last longer than an ego. Thanks for the suggestions!!

Have you tried it with an EVOD?

I think I might have found something, the VariCool box mod SmokTek. They are tiny (2) 14500 batteries, I'll just need an 510/Ego connector. Anyone know about these?SmokBox VariCool Custom Variable Modbox is only $49.95 today

I looked at the Varicool, but because of having to buy a charger and several sets of batteries, I opted for the MVP instead. I know that in the long run I'll have to discard the MVP, but my budget was down to the pennies at the time. Since then, I've gotten a Tesla and 4 18650 batteries, and two Nitecore chargers (i4 and i2). The MVP is my backup now, so between the two I could probably go about 6 days without having to charge anything (Florida Keys... hurricane season... need to order more 18650's!).

Here are some mods that I own that fit your criteria:

Innokin iTaste MVP

I won this in a promotion raffle. As mentioned, long battery life of up to two days or more; you can even charge your cell phone with this. Variable voltage ability, but only to 5 watts which is not a big deal to me. I would have liked for an ohm meter in this. My unit has used a Kanger Protank, Kanger Evod, and Innokin iClear clearomizers, but will not fire my cartotanks. Appears to be a 510 center pin height issue.
______

Gripper-cartotank.jpg

Smoktech Variable Voltage Gripper

Variable Voltage up to 6 volts. Ohm and battery meter. LED display. Accepts any 510 connection; would need a 510-eGo adaptor for ego delivery devices. Impact-resistant rubberized-coating plastic. The inner electronics on this mod are very good, but the body and parts could have been higher quality to be more durable. 18650 IMR battery will last all day.

_____

Vapage VMod-XL

This is a mechanical bottom feeder box mod. It uses either a drip atomizer or cartomizer. Inner tank has a whopping 9 ml of juice. Uses an 18650 battery which lasts me nearly two days. Gives the full unadulterated flavor of a drip atomizer with the convenience of a tank. Less expensive than a Reo bottom feeder box mod.

But answers like that are fodder for the ProVari hate threads. There's no scientific study, purely anecdotal evidence that is building to have me come to a conclusion that there's something about a ProVari that causes ones reading comprehension skills to deteriorate to a point where the only answer one might give to any post asking to recommend a device is ==> ProVari

So please, don't discourage these answers as I look forward to many more bacon and taco threads :p
