Hey ladies and gents.

I've been vaping on egos for quite a while and made the jump to a mechanical mod. Bottom line is that I couldn't be happier.

I'm trying to figure out why I'm so much happier. I used to vape at 3.7 volts with a 1.5ohm coil on my Ego. For right now I'm doing the same exact thing with my 3.7 volt AW battery in my mod. Same tank and coil. The vapor with the mod just seems so much better, tastier, and everything better x2. Some of the juices that I semi-liked just taste 1000 times better now. 10 watts is 10 watts, how can this be that much better?

This is a dumb post.

It great you are happy with your new setup!:)

Just an FYI for you. Your 3.7 volt battery is really 4.2v fully charged. The 3.7v that is printed in the wrapper is the nominal charge. I usually put my battery on the charger when it gets down to ~3.6v.

So with a 1.5 ohm coil on a fully charged battery you are really getting 11.76 watts. However the voltage will drop as you vape. That's the downside of mech mods.

Yes, I know that, but I've drained it down to around 3.7 and its still better than my ego by a wide margin. I'm thinking that my ego batteries started to drop off way faster than I thought and its just far more consistent now.

Well, you didn't say which eGo battery you were using. Some of them actually run at 3.4V. If it's a Twist style, you may set it at 3.7V, but you don't really know what it's putting out at that setting. Also, if you're using dual coils the eGo might have been amp limited.

Or maybe it's just mind over matter :)

In any case, glad you're enjoying the new vape!

Yeah, it was a KangerTech Evod vv twist style set at 3.7

At this point I'm thinking that the Egos were just getting old (They sure had a lot of use). I think they were slowly dropping off and I didn't really notice because I had nothing to compare it to.

New setup is much more win :)

There's a real good chance that your "Ego" style batteries do not have as much "headroom" for lack of a better word and actually fall off faster during each pull on your vape. In other words..The batteries in your mod hold the voltage better under load thereby giving you a better vape.

BTW.. I noticed the same thing when I transitioned to mechs and that was my conclusion.
