Hey Ally, what's the ohm's of your build and rba used? Type of wick and coil used would be helpful too. It's most likely a combination of things but without more info tis tuff to even guess.

Not having a secure trap on coil leads can cause many issues and concerns. The more amps one is pulling from a batt, the shorter vape time per charge. Densities of wick through coils and in juice well or channels can cause deficiencies in vape production and satisfaction/flavor. proper air flow......build location to air intake............. Just saying.

Vape long and Prosper.!!!

I'm using organic unbleached cotton balls for wicks, It's a duel coil, 26 gauge. I've checked and rechecked the connection with the coil. Ohms is 1.48 with my calculations. The RBA has adjustable air flow as well.

1.48 ohms may be too high. That is quite a bit of metal to heat up on a mech mod (that is a mech isn't it?) Try building a little lower and I recommend using a meter to verify your atomizers resistance.

Just a note on that battery you have - I believe it is really a 20A battery, not 35A. I may be wrong though. Probably shouldn't build any coils lower than 0.25 ohms if you decided to sub-ohm.

I forgot to include that I believe it is labeled wrong. The cell inside the Efest wrapper is actually an LG 20A cell. I just found the link on the site here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...he2-2500mah-imr-icr-30a-20a.html#post13166415

Edit: Doesn't seem like the guy set it up well for you. I personally haven't had any luck with high ohm + lower gauge coils on a mech mod. I was about to suggest a build, but towelie's below looks like a good place to start.

Purple Efest's aren't 35A. They're actually LG HE2 batteries with a purple wrapper. You need a meter and some wire. I recommend 28ga which you can always twist to make lower res (higher guage) wire. Start with a single coil around .6 ohms and I think you will be pleased. The tech should have told you what the ohms were. Welcome btw!

Do you have an ohm meter of mod that reads coils ?

When putting in the info to a coil site make sure you selected dual coil.

1.4Ω dual coil would be two coils at 2.8Ω each giving 1.4Ω total.

If you did two coils at 1.4Ω it would come out at 0.7Ω - or 1.4Ω if only one coil was making a connection because then it would be a single coil.

Hello and welcome to the forum Ally. Glad to have you here!:)

If you are new to mech mods and rebuildables I highly recommend you spend some time with Baditude (one of our resident battery experts) and visit his blogs. You are now 100% in control of your own safety (and others around you). Make sure you purchase an ohm reader and a voltmeter or DMM so you can measure your builds, check for shorts and measure the remaining charge on your batteries.

Baditudes Blogs. The blogs regarding mods and rebuildables are listed below:

BATTERIES

9. Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected ICR?
* Another essential read to understand which batteries are safe to use in mechanical and regulated mods. Includes a frequently updated list of recommended safe-chemistry, high-drain batteries with their specifications.

17. Purple Efest Batteries Not As Advertised
* A cautionary blog that reveals that the purple Efest batteries may not have the specifications advertised. Also includes a commentary on "continuous discharge ratings" vs "pulse discharge ratings" of battery specs.

OHM'S LAW

14. Ohm's Law for Dummies (Vapers)
* My attempt at explaining Ohm's Law in layman terms and how it relates to vaping.

16. Explain it to the Dumb Noob: Ohm's Law Calculations
* As simple as it is to use, some people have a tough time grasping the concept. Warning: Includes graphic photos of mod explosions.

MECHANICAL MODS & REBUILDABLES

7. Information Resources for Your First RBA
* An essential read and reference guide for someone new to rebuilding coils. Includes a multitude of useful links on battery safety, mod safety, coil meters, coil building, and the differences in the three types of RBA's.

15. Inexpensive Mechanical Mod and RDA Setup
* A response to the frequently asked question on how to get into rebuildable atomizers with a mechanical mod inexpensively. Includes a list of commonly used tools and supplies for rebuilding and where to find them.

BATTERIES - WHERE TO BUY

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics
