Modded VTR

I saw a thread somewhere that had a picture of this and decided to give it a go. So here is my VTR with a KFL+. Works great.
Funny story though: The first two times I tried to vape I thought my kayfun was clogged. Then I realized I had my hand over the air hole.

Did you just cut the ring off or file the inside curve down too?

You have to grind down the ring on the inside as well until its gone. It isn't a 5 min job, but I think it came out looking good and it is functional, so I am happy!

Love it! A cure for the only thing that urks me about the VTR. What tool did you use?

Looks good, although I am actually a fan of the ring on the VTR. I put mine through some abuse, and having that ring to help protect the tank even a little is good for me. Of course, with the ring, the KFL won't fit, I'll have to cross that road when I get a KFL!

Been debating whether or not to mod mine in this way. I have been having some success with cotton re-wicked protanks but nothing beats the kayfun lite! Did you use a dremel?

Thanks everyone. Yes used a dremel diamond tip cutter and grinder. Vaping heaven. It is definitely a hack job but I love it.

I too have been thinking of doing this very thing, I just wish i could attach like a leather strap or rubber strap to secure the tanks where the ring use to be like a snap on one side to snap a leather sling around the top. Sorry hard to explain!

Innokin should consider a larger ring replacement top, thats all that needs done, hell sell them for $20 I would buy it. Nah they will just release VTR V2 with a larger ring and a fixed 510 connector spinning thing! Ill end up buying one too, dang it!

This should be the VTR v2, with some kind of adjustable ring. I haven't bought one because i don't want to go through the hassle of using the dremel

set your wattage then use a Velcro strip to fasten it

I have been thinking about doing that. What I want to do though is remove the ring, then braze another larger ring onto it so I still have the protection that it offers. Or split the ring in the middle, open it up, then put a piece in the space. Nice job
