Looking for some insight on the best way to modify my VTR to fit my Kayfun. Just picked up my first KFL+ and looking at getting it on my VTR. Seen some pics but not too much info. Not looking to just saw it off. I would like to try and keep the outer ring. Think I saw one where they able to keep it. I work in construction and really like having the protection. Been rebuilding protank coils and decided to take the next step. For me it was the Kayfun and a Nemesis Clone. First day with it at work and dropped it 3 times. Luckily no damage but still scary nonetheless.
The Nemesis is my first mech and couldn't be happier. Love building my own coils with cotton. Now with the Kayfun theres no rubber taste and its clean and smooth.
Basically looking to have the great flavor without the fear of damage. Love the VTR for the fact that its a tank. Gone through a couple drip tips but never a tank. Having the mech is great as well just a little long in the pocket opposed to carrying the paper weight (ha).
If possible some pics would be nice.
Thanks

Brake hone. I cut my rings but others have been able to make it work. I used the hone to make the iClear 30B fit as well.

Nice, I've been considering doing the same thing to my VTR, chopping the rings off and smoothing it down. I'm guessing the metal part the ring is on is zinc plated carbon steel and would be constantly worrying about surface rust in the cuts because I vape a lot outside in any weather. If it's a non ferrous metal than it wouldn't be a problem. I guess one way to find out is take a magnet to it.

I'd like to see pics without the tanks on the VTR so as to see the work needed to modify it. I'm not a machinist or carpenter so I have no idea what the end result may look like. Thanks!

ETA: If you look close on the 2 fixed wheels on the right you should be able to see that I took a file to the channels to open up the airflow.
