Modder help! rut-roh

Hey i got a 901 boxmod supposed to be 5v but shows 7+ regulator is dead im assuming

I got this from a recent issue with Cough ecigmods.com cough

he sent it to me instead of 30 bux he owed me

anyhow i was wondering if any modders out there could possibly fix this mod for me

add a led? i will ship it and throw some bux in??? or maybe we can work something out???

lol is it normal/safe to use double sided sticky foam to hold things down in a mod LMAO

amajn ... what's the loaded voltage? seeing 7+v at the atomizer doesn't really show what's its pumping. Yes, the regulator would be toast, but you can easiliy get a $1 resistor and drop the voltage down to 4.75 - 5v quickly. (2) solder joints and you're done.

Resistor wanted if using (2) 3.0v batt's. .51ohm - 2watt

my resisted mod shows 7+v before the attie. once you put the power to the attie it drops to 5v.
not sure, but I think there has to be a load on the resistor to work.

If the regulator is setup wide open with no filtering caps between the collector, base and drain then yes the voltage could show high until a load is present. I had a power supply once with a bad regulator. It showed proper voltage until a load was applied then it spiked on the 12V rail and dropped like a rock on the 5V.
