My gf's boss received a kit from his son to help him kick analogs. He immediately lost the charger (charger box is empty). I do have him talked into replacing this unit with an 808 or 501 setup once it is used up, but he really wants to use this kit for his son's sake for now. We're clueless about what models are compatible for grabbing a charger and some nicotine cartridges.

The only information on the packaging is reference number INOCIG01. It came with 0nic cartridges, which will need to be replaced with 12 - 18mg before he can actually attempt replacing analogs. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know the model, even after scouring DonDaBoomVape's guide. Its a super mini, no doubt. I have seen this same model sold by shady vendors that give it away for free and then rope you into having to buy carts for a premium. Smoke Assassin is one. I'm going to go out on a limb and say its a good thing you don't have a charger, because it is going to be a short-lived battery and very little vapor. It will not work well, and he will be continually frustrated. These opinions are based on the experience I have had with other PVs that were just like this: short male battery, small exposed female atty, analog-filter-looking cart. The battery will last about 12 minutes on a charge, the atty/cart combo does not work well, and its just not worth investing anything into it.

Another vet who knows for sure what this is, and thinks it is any good, please jump in! Don?

Your idea to get him to get either an 808 or 510 (not 501) is good. An eGo kit with cartomizers would be also good. Personally I think a fat batt or KR808d-1 with cartos will be the easiest way to get someone started. Get him some juices and a drip tip for the carto, and I think he will be very happy.

That is one of the disposable type of mini cig models. It is sold by Ningbo Donghai Lear International Trading Company in China (called DHLE). They call the Model a DHEC85. I don't know if they make them, or just sell them. I suspect just sell them, but don't offer atomizers, batteries or chargers. Reasonable price and healthy e cigarette - Detailed info for Reasonable price and healthy e cigarette, healthy e cigarette,Reasonable price and healthy e cigarette,DHEC85 on Alibaba.com

This model has the inverted fittings (Battery has a threaded male post and atomizer has a female threaded end). They pop up on the forum from time to time, and nobody has yet to identify anywhere to buy replacement parts for them. Most just give up and go get an inexpensive 510 starter kit.

Freddo (Leading International Supplier of E Liquid) sold this company's little model (InoCig01) back in October of 2009, though it's not listed on his site anymore. Perhaps PM or email him from his website to ask if he ever figured out exactly what the InoCig01 model by DHLE was. Perhaps he'd have some ideas for you (or maybe even a few old kits left over!)

Here is the old thread where they're mentioned (the only time these ever have popped up by name on ECF, ha) http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-how-would-you-like-try-me-e-cigs-9-99-a.html

He can use a "Dipping" method with the exposed atomizer (a contact lens case is great to hold the e-liquid, and you just dip the metal bridge into the liquid, replace the cartridge cap and vape away). Or he can drip on the little bridge with a small bottle of e-liquid. This way, you can use any e-liquid... you also can put liquid in those tiny cartridges (but it's a PIA!) and put new polyester fiber fill in them if he wants (available at WalMart in the Craft section). So... he really doesn't need new cartridges to use that model and you can just get him the e-liquid with the nictone he needs to get started.

Good luck to you!

Kurt has asked me to jump in, but I have nothing to add to Hellen's in-depth answer. She nailed the problem with: "This model has the inverted fittings (Battery has a threaded male post and atomizer has a female threaded end)."

Initially, I provided some speculations, but they were not nearly as useful as loxmythe's insight and Hellen's expansion on it, both which follow.

Loxmythe very well could be right (though I have a weird male end battery mini-cig that I've never been able to figure out what it is, and my 401 gear won't work with it)!

Your model could very well could be a just like the Health E-Cig. (I think it still is a good idea to contact the vendor in my OP and ask for sure). The Health E-Cig is not really a true 401, but called a 401 clone Model. It is also known as a EC502. There are posts here by people that have the Health e-cig kits that say they will work with the 401 attys/batteries. Here are the specs for them:
With the atomizer attached:
M 401 is 108mm
M 402 is 95mm
M 403 is 85mm

The atomizers for the M401/402/403 are identical, but their batteries are different in length and capacity.

M401 battery 200 mAh (about 2 hours use)
M402 battery 150 mAh (about 1.5 hours use)
M403 battery 100 mAh (about 1 hour use)

It might be worth finding an inexpensive Smoore (manufacturer) M40X series kit, as they are a good e-cig for a mini.

At a later time, if the 401 atomizer works with his INOCig01 kit, you could get a 401 to 510 adapter and get him 510 atomizers if he wants to keep the small battery size (batteries seem to outlast atomizers). Prosmoke.com actually has a good deal on batteries, Replacement Parts - Replacement Battery - ProSmoke - The #1 Rated Electronic Cigarette - An Easy Way Quit Smoking and The Best Smoking Alternative but is a rip-off for atomizers ($12.99!). Litecigusa.com has the atties for $6.95 M-401/2/3 Atomizers and the smaller M403 batteries for $10.95 M403 Replacement Battery

Best deal is on the clone kits. Deal Extreme has the Health E-cig kits (M401 clone) and free shipping (expect it to take a while to receive it, but generally, they do a good job). Move your cursor over the pictures to blow them up large to compare your model. The packaging they show looks like yours, but who knows until you get it. You can't beat the price if that is really what he wants. Some of the kits come with a personal charging case (PCC) as well which is very handy for those little batteries since they don't last long. Here are 2 examples you can compare yours to:
$6.10 - Quit Smoking Rechargeable Electronic Cigarette with 7-Refills (Flue-Cured Tobacco Flavor/DC 5V) - Cigar Pipes and Cases

$9.21 - Quit Smoking Electronic Cigarettes with Chargers and 10-Refills Set (110~240V) - Cigar Pipes and Cases

It seems to be inexpensive, so you could get a few kits for some back up parts if you really think he's satisfied with the small size/cartridge of that little e-cig. At least he's willing to use it!
