Well after 3 years of solid vaping ,my preferences have change ,some might say in a backwards directions
my builds.juices and style have now lead me towards devices that pulse, one such device is the segelei kick

i am told the E-huge also pulses ,some say the vamo pulses and others say it doesn't ?!?!?!

so what i am looking for is a list of mods\devices that do pulse

whadda ya got for me

Any variable voltage or variable wattage mod will use Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to produce the dialed in voltage (VW devices also vary the voltage to deliver a constant wattage). It's just a method of varying a DC voltage on and off to produce the same power as a constant DC voltage turned up or down. Dimmer switches do it, too. They just vary the frequency and/or width of the pulse to approximate a lower or higher DC voltage.

Some devices use a finer control by implementing a higher frequency oscillator. They can produce much better control over the regulation of the voltage by using pulse width modulation and pulse frequency modulation to achieve an even voltage that vapes more smoothly. When you look at mods ask what the PWM frequency is for that device. Higher is better. Provari uses an 800hz frequency while others use 100hz or even down to 33hz. Below a certain point if you put your ear to the drip tip and press the fire button you will hear a sizzling that sounds like a rattlesnake. Higher PWM frequencies are better.

This thread will fill you in on PWM and what's used in various devices.

i already know and understand all that, what i don't know is which devices produce the pulsing i am after

The Vamos have a pronounced 33.3 Hz pulse, according to Pbusardo's graphs, and according to many anecdotes that I've come across.

Edit to add: And I can hear the rattlesnake sound when I use cartos on my own Vamo V5, so there's definitely something going on there.

Most of the cheap Chinese PVs, except for MVPs, VV3s and eVics. This would include ZMAXs, Vamos, SIDs and SVDs. Just out of curiosity, what is it about the low frequency PWM PVs that make you prefer them?

thanks ,makes it much easier to figure out where to start looking

maybe i am moving back wards ? don't know don't care but i have been using my segelei kicks in rotation since they first came out

i have done the sub ohm and stack config and i still keep coming back to the 1.5ohm range pulsed .juice just tastes so much better that way

i have taken the same atty and moved it from pulsed to the pro to straight mec and even now a 7-22..pulsers keep winning out for me

EDIT: the seven 22 does NOT pulse either

The higher the PWM frequency, the more it's like a mech. I don't get the low frequency preference, although I like my Sigelei Zmax V3 almost as much as I do vaping my Provari. Most would say they like straight DC much better than the rattlesnake effect.

I personally can't tolerate the 33.3 Hz chips. IMHO, they fire hotter and require greater voltage adjustments to match the power output of a higher Hz chip like a Provari or MVP2 which provide a smoother vaping experience. I gave my Smoktech Mini ZMax to my daughter, and my other 33.3 Hz chip mods are gathering dust.

The higher freq vapes sound like bacon frying. Lower freqs are more like bacon spattering. I like both, although I like my Provari better simply because the fire switch doesn't put me in the menu nearly as often.

I need to yank my Sigelei Zmax apart and replace the switch and realign the electronics. My switch is offset from the button toward the atomizer connection so much that I have to press the switch at an angle to get it to fire.

I dunno. I would call that a placebo effect. There's no way you could perceive 15 cycles a second difference... or the vtr isn't efficient or messed up.

idk, the vtr works, produces the same amount of vapor, but the flavor seems muted and doesnt feel as hot as say my mvp or a vamo. And it makes a annoying buzzing when I hit it too =T
