I am trying to make a Fig Newton flavor. I've tried Fig and Pie Crust combo, but it just wasn't sweet enough. I added Maple Syrup to that and it still didn't taste right. I think I can get the desired taste by adding a small amount of molasses flavor to the mix, however the only one I can find is TFA and it has Acetoin and Acetyl Propionyl. Does anyone know of a molasses flavor that doesn't have the Acetyl Propionyl or have a suggestion of another flavor to achieve the sweetness of a Fig Newton.

I saw another post that said they used Graham Cracker, but that doesn't sound like it would taste right.
What fig are you using? To me, FA fig is a bit unripe and CA is a bit too ripe, so I used to mix them to get a better ripe fig taste. German Flavors fig is pretty much spot on.
tfa molasses tasted like brown sugar XX, instead of just brown sugar Xtra. Not molasses at all. bsx might be a nice addition anyway.

I don't know about fig but I use equal parts of molasses and peanut butter and it tastes just like Mary Janr candies. Delicious.
