I got 2 mini-sub tanks yesterday. They work great. However, the one thing the video on how to fill them on their website didn't mention was to fill the top like you would any other carto, drop by drop or by injection, until it is full, then put the drip tip back on and fill the tank through the side hole. So, I got one dry hit that tasted a little, er, burnt. But I got lucky, and realized what I hadn't done. So I just fixed the problem, and let the tank sit on it's side and wick up all the VG liquid as I would any carto...about 2 hours for me. Now it vapes flawlessly

Carrying one around right now, vaping at 4.2volts on my Lavatube. I can go higher, but it seems to use juice up more quickly when I do (hey, I'm new to VV vaping, if you're all going "duh..")...:)

I just ordered the mini after a bad experience with another supplier, no matter how hard I tried i couldn't get the carto to go through the holes. The sub tank uses more rubber right? Easier to push through?

Actually, the carto already is in the sub tank (unless you ordered a DIY tank). If you did, hopefully someone who has had to do it will answer you.

It's a grommet tank. There is no 'plastic with o-rings' on these; it's just two grommets with external o-rings. So yes, easier than your J-tank (still not sure what happened there -- did you return it?) to insert the carto, but doesn't allow for "quick-swap" when a carto dies and the tank is full of juice.

The video with dotma in it? I could've sworn she used the syringe method in that video to fill the carto.

Rubber grommets with rubber o rings... all my cartos push thru easily, especially if you lube with a touch of juice. I get mine in all crooked, and still no leaks. You will love the thumb screw fill hole!

I've only had these a couple months but found out yesterday that they seem to go on better if you run them under hot water first.
You may be able to slip the grommet on better if you have the drip tip on and go over that.

They have 3 holes now?? I got both sizes several weeks ago and the Boges had 2 and the Kangers have 1. The Boge is flawless, but my first Kanger kept getting dry- now my second Kanger hits perfect.

the grommets are actually vinyl, not rubber, rubber grommets give off a rubber smell and taste and are unusable. I love the screw fill hole! I now put fill holes in all my tanks :)

So what do you do when your in-tank carto dies?
