I still occasionally use an m2 machine screw to make dual macro coils. Make two, slide them together, bingo. The consistency is great. I haven't found a machine screw small enough to do micros with yet, though.

A 1-64 bolt is micro size. But they are very hard to find. I had to order from Fastenal. I haven't tried it yet but it might not work with 28 gauge. It does work with 30 gauge

Only thing with the micro coil is that I seem to have to squank more. I image that's because there is less cotton. Any suggestions in regards to a longer/thinker wick?

I'm not sure what the diameter of a T-pin is, but if its smaller than a 1/16" drill bit, you could try 8 turns of 30 gauge wire on a 1/16" drill bit which will allow a slightly thicker wick to hold a bit more juice. That makes a 1.6 to 1.7 ohm coil. Then cut the cotton wick to length so the ends of the wick end up around the base of the posts. I get maybe half a dozen good toots per squonking with this setup. Of course, its not a cloud maker like the lower ohm coils a lot of people are using, but it suits me fine. Here's a pic of a similar setup. Maybe too much cotton on the RHS but gives an idea. Be careful when you screw the cap back on that the wick ends stay put. Pull the drip tip and eyeball it to be sure.

I don't know if this will work better or worse than your current setup, but if you are looking for something to try, its worth a go.

Thank Stringer! You were correct. It does change everything. Wow the cloud!!! Although my first coils generated pretty good results the micro coil is instant and plentiful. Here is my first go at it. I wrapped it around a t-pin and with 10 wraps (30 gage) I get 1.5 ohms. Most excellent and flavorful.

That's a fine looking micro you have going there. I'm glad you gave it a shot - all the props go to Super-X for the excellent video tutorial.

Great work and some solid advice from these most knowledgable REOnauts.

I started out using a machine screw to wrap on too :)

The first coils looked like this :

Then I realized that losing the bolt and wrapping around a very small mold like a nail / needle / dz coil jig produced a much better vaping setup.

Yes, you only get a few hits, but it's worth it :). Think of squonking as a replacement for ashing your cig :)

Here's a current build :
