At least they mentioned that they contain NO tobacco.

As for the sexy ads and the glamorizing of ecigs......I use mine simply as a tool, like I woud use my microwave, etc. so I really can't comment on that. The furthest I ever went was to buy a pouch to keep it in when I'm out......I mean, I REALLY don't care what my ecig looks like, any more than I care about what my coffeemaker looks like. I just want it to work good.

I know that some people still think holding an analog can be glamorous, but watching my mom gasp for breath w/COPD is hardly glamorous.

Perceptions are weird, we can't fix that stuff.

I think there will be some regulation, etc. and that as time passes, a lot of this will straighten itself out. Right now ecigs are like pink elephants or something, they have everyone's attention, but they are really not that exotic.

And eventually, I actually things will get BETTER for us, not worse, as they become part of the normal landscape.

It was on ok segment. Mostly just a re-hashing of the two sides of the debate. The pro side mostly focused on the big players Big Bacco. In these segments they rarely talk about all the devices we all know and love.

Glantz covered that in the TRDRP meeting, in the Q & A section. He said the regulated types of eCigs are ..... Scarrrrrrrrrrrrrry. Because we can regulate our intake from the first puff, optimize the nic for best effect.... If I weren't laughing so hard, I would have cried for him.

Thanks, downloaded and now trying to find it. Is it the one titled "it's back to the future..." ?

Go to their website and then select All Things Considered--E-Cigarettes: A nearly $2B industry...

I listened to it while I was driving. The usual lazy, knee-jerk, sloppy journalism. Looks like they used Google to do their research; tutti frutti flavors (seriously? anyone ever seen a tutti frutti flavor???), glamorous adds, wild west, poor unprotected children, gateway to real tobacco smoking, we don't know what's in them--all the ANTZ buzzwords. And of course the authority on all things e-cigs--that zealot Glanz. "Yes, e-cigarettes are safer but so what"???? Are they serious???? Per Glanz, "there is no question that e-cigarettes are less dangerous than smoking (burn cigarettes), but smoking is wildly dangerous." Thus, e-cigs are dangerous. perhaps even more dangerous than smoking. Talk about circular reasoning.

And they interview a vape shop owner in Florida who carries all those glamorous brands like Blu and Gamucci... Cutting edge tutti frutti sexy glamour!
