wassup, new mexico, we got ya beat here in new orleans!! not only can we still smoke analogs (not that i do that any more) in bars, but we can also drink legally in the streets, have DRIVE THROUGH daquiri shops, and mixed drinks served at most of the movie theaters --- i vape everywhere, and have had no problems whatsoever --- if they try to ban e-cigs here before trying to ban all that other stuff, i'll be more than shocked!

I'm not a lawyer, but under what authority can any state ban the sale of a device that hasn't, as of yet, been declared paraphanelia? And unless nicotine is declared a an illegal drug is that even possible? I can see the state's right to ban use within government or public property, but can they really control what you order online? If someone understands the legalities, I'd be interested in hearing.

Sorry… got to joke because this “taking action to ban e-cigarettes” by the individual states is pure insanity and it is getting way too upsetting.

I don't believe Oregon has a flat-out ban, it was an agreement with two companies that were marketing in Kiosks with certain "safety" claims... as far as I understand, there is no statewide ban...

But, expect states to try something, because I'm sure that e-cig sales and use are starting to mess a little with their tobacco tax revenues... and we all know how they are all struggling with their budgets because they all overspend taxpayers money. :sneaky:

Why on earth do we not hold our state and federal politicians liable for spending the country into poverty by forcing a wage freeze on them every time the state and federal coffers finish the year in the red? To clarify further, by *wage freeze*, I mean no salary and no medical benefits for any of them until the state or federal finances are brought back into the black? Is this so hard?

Neither here nor there
Yeah, me and the other five Montana vapers are cutting into the state tax revenue. LOL!

Really what it is, is a bunch of wannabes thinking that if a "progressive", "hip" place like Oregon is doing in then we must do it, too. Maybe to prove that we are not all Freemen or Unabombers. Name your nutjobs, we've got'em. Remember them?

What the hell? Have you seen our governor? He wants to be a buddy to the new administration, but wears a bolo tie 24/7 to prove to us regular folks that he's just a cowboy at heart. Our senior senator is the chairman of the senate finance commitee, so you know what he's up to.

Anyway, Montana has the highest drunk driving death rate and highest suicide rate per capita in the nation. Not to mention our .... problem. Have you seen those really gross anti-.... adverts? They are from the Montana .... Project, and have been taken up by other states. Hope they do some good.

There are a whole lot of other things our state legislators should be worried about than PVs. Drunk driving being the one that really gets me riled up. 13 DUIs and you're not in prison? How does that even happen?

Sorry about my rant, just reported what the news said. We all know how unreliable the media has been with regard to PVs of late.

Anyone, any municipality, any state, any government can write any law they want making anything legal or illegal. And that is the way it is until someone else challenges the law. The the courts and the judges make the intitial decision, until that is challenged and it goes up to the next court and judge, unitl that is challenged and goes on and on and on.....

It all boils down to the mentality of 'us against them'. All of the 'thems' are trying to control the 'us's' while the 'us's' are trying to control the 'thems'.

Until we all figure out that we are all in the same boat and that there is room for everyone, and if everyone cooperates all view points can be accomidated with a little bit of common sense and willingness to get along. When that happens, PERHAPS, we will be able to get back to the land of the free and home of the brave. As long as we coninue to function from its me against everyone else, there isn't enough to go around and I gotta get mine before its all gone, I afriad we will continue to spiral down into more and more legal Bull**it!
