I noticed that the juice in the bottom of a Clearomizer was really dark, and the flavor was "not so fresh". It also developed a bubbling ....-like noise during a hit - I've noticed that the replaceable cart can unscrew a bit during fillings. I took the tip off and dumped the last few drops down the drain. I used a syringe to rinse with vodka several times. I unscrewed the replaceable cart and let it soak in vodka in the bottom of a shot glass for a few minutes, then gave everything a few more vodka rinses with the syringe. I shook out the remaining vodka, blew through each device, then put everything but the plastic tip into the convection oven set to 150F for about 10 minutes. I also processed a dual-coil cartomizer the same way: fill, shake, drain, repeat. After cooling and reassembly, everything is functioning like new again and I'm a happy guy. Hope that helps someone. Got any useful vape hygiene tips to share? -----also, is there some way to coax this forum software to allow formatting text in paragraphs? Crikey, that's annoying!-----

I've noticed the 'sludginess' of the juice in the bottom of a clearo after it's been used a while - I figure it's carbon from juice baking onto the coil with normal use. I dry-burn mine clean (since the heads are replaceable it's no biggie if I end up popping one in the process). I've used Everclear in the past for cleaning atomizers, but have never tried to clean a carto.

VIP member Ceegary has a pretty slick method of cleaning cartos, he takes the little white endcap that comes on them and jams it over the tip of an oral syringe, and then places it back into the tip of the carto. Then he sticks the carto end of the whole thing into a glass of water and uses the syringe's plunger to irrigate the polyfill a few times. Then you pull the syringe/endcap off the carto and let it dry, and it should be good as new. He swears by this method, and demonstrated it at a meet a couple months back.
