the 510 atty's come with carts on the end that have no filling in them. they are useless as-is, but don't throw them out--they have a use and you might want them later. the other carts you will get (assuming you're getting the usual starter kit) will each be individually sealed in their own bags with a rubbery sort of cap on each one, these ones already have e-juice in them and are good to go. I found that the top of the e-juice gets used up pretty quickly and there's no way for the rest of the juice to get to the top of the cart! (see the modder's sub-forum for info and tricks to make the juice come up) so i just pluck off the cart and put a couple of drops of juice on the top and stick it back in. I'm pretty lazy, so i haven't tried any of the mods yet, but I hear that "fluval blue foam" works better that the stuff that comes with your carts.
When You get your 510 in the mail, start charging one of the batts and blow out one of the atty's (blow into the threaded end so liquid comes out of the open end--do it over a paper towel or something) this gets the primer out. The primer wont hurt you, but it tastes gross. Screw the atty onto a batt, pop on one of the carts and vape! Keep us updated-- we want details! Good Luck!

I never wash mine. I just use them till they dont work as well anymore then just throw them out and use a new one. To save money it is best to wash them occasionally or if you switch flavors you might want to do so. Also most carts that come with the kits are prefilled but you can buy empty ones too. Good luck and enjoy!
