More than I can chew....

I'm trying to gather parts for 3 separate VV mods (boost, buck, PWM), gather parts and start planning for a genesis atty, AND trying to find a good DIY juice all at the same time. I'm finding my attention cannot be split this many ways, so I think I'm gonna have to choose just 1 of the VV mods and put all other hardware on hold till completion, then concentrate on the genesis till completion. I'm really interested in the PWM idea, but I think that will have to wait until after because that will require the most experimentation.

OK time to vote.... Boost or Buck? I have samples from TI for either already.

If you have some IMR or other high-drain batteries, I say go with the boost. If you don't, I'd start with the buck.

I'd go with buck unless you really want built-in USB charging. If so, then go with boost which is what I always build myself, love my USB charging. Though, buck performs better with higher output and wider range. Also, you can use regular protected 14500s without any issue. Boost needs high drain.
