ahhh... but you didnt have a real one did you.. you had what we try our best not to sell.. he he he... and it cost you bugger all to find out anything.. u instantly sold it for what you paid for it... he he he

basically there are such things as "enthusiasts".. this place is dominated by them... such folks cant wait to buy the next new product.. the SD isnt for these folks its for those who the "hobby".. noverlty"... "fun" factor has worn off..

me for example me.. he he he..

now i aint trying to sell SDs.. just defend it... buy a new one decide you dont like it... very few do.. then sell it for what you paid for it.. i need say no more..

trog

You are right, Trog, that I did want the penstyle model, actually against your advice. But I am still glad I tried the penstyle because I don't really get into the 901 stuff. But for me, that wasn't the problem with it anyway. It was actually the switch that didn't work for me.

And yes, when I sold it, I did get what I paid for it. I can't knock the SD....but I can say that it's not for everyone. And I can say that most of those who own one also use other devices.

I think my whole point is the "SD enthusiasts" often try to make it sound like it's the only device you will ever need, or want....when as evidenced by those who own them, this is just not true.

Or is that inaccurate?

I think you were always honest with me when I wanted to buy one....and that's why I can't fault you....nor the product. But Tumbleweed asked a viable question and I think my reply to her was honest as well.

this place creates a false impression samucalu.. i cant really tell who uses what.. i cant choose who buys the SD..

we have sold around 350 now to over 30 different countries.. most not to users of this place.. we sell a lot to germany i cant even speak german.. we have a german forum.. cant understand a word of.. they could all be in there calling me everything from a pig to a dog for all i know ... he he he

but if i could choose my customers they would not be enthusiasts.. they would be real hard core users who need what the SD has to offer.. people who have already tried the rest.. or people who dont want to have to bother..

trog

ps.. this thread is likely to be deleted and me me accused of product spamming.. but i aint.. simply cos i dont have to.. simply putting right a few misconceptions..

ps..2. and i can say apart from the need for something that looks like a real cig... it is the only device you will ever need.. apart from the buying for fun factor.. which sooner or later will wear off.. it wore off for me long ago..

im starting with a 801 penstyle with the janty manual switch and batteries/charger

I watched the online review videos from different people on these forums, I can't stand having a cut off, I must have the manual to really see if I like the product.
I only see using my backup auto switch/801 battery when I wish to smoke when distracted or waiting for a failed replacement janty manual switch/battery.

I'm pretty confident in the janty switch/batteries and don't expect them to fail a lot, one of the reasons I picked their switch/battery.

And it's not just your product either Trog. I see the same going on with the Janty KB....owners pushing others to buy it as another end all, be all....when in most cases, it's not.

I bought 2 used ones for the price of one and I really like it because of the closed off switch but in overall performance, I prefer my Lady Pipes. Now do I recommend either of these to others? Well, yes, I will say why I prefer each of them....but I will never say "You should buy one. It will be the best thing you ever bought. You won't need anything else" because even if that were true for me, it certainly may not be true for someone else.

I just really wish people would stop trying to push such expensive devices using that strategy.....unless it is true that it is the only device they now, and ever will, use. If it's true what they say, then nothing else should be needed.

Ah well...I don't want to detract any more from this thread. And I realize you have no control over what others buy, or say. But as seeing this done over and over, I just felt compelled to comment.

The thing is I want the closed off manual switch, its a superior design. It will protect every component behind the switch from damage.

It's why im making a hybrid 801/janty manual.

I have not even bought anything and thats just my opinion.

What sucks is why not then just use a regular kissbox?? Your freaking just buying a kissbox anyway with the money spent for a 801/janty manual build!
Well if you DO like to vape on an 801 heavy use for years, 40 801 atomizers is cheaper from china then 40 janty atomizers.

40x5.50/6.50 vs 40x18.95

WOW

THIS is why the SD is a good investment, 901 atomizers from china are cheap. Bulk order.
Same concept as the hybrid 801/manual but for 901 and a Kit.

Most of us dont want janty parts cause the price, i will pay for their design improvements but any part forward the switch I dont want janty parts.

i agree 100%... it is done over and over again... just got the new xyz and its geee wow whiz wonderfull.. to be honest it makes me cringe..

the reviewer do the same.. a few quick puffs and this xyz gets their blessing...

there is no perfect e cig.. my original post about e cigs being only fit for occasional light use else they wear out very quickly is true..

we get round this by telling the simple truth.. "we consider atomizers to be disposable items" and give them an average life span of two weeks for the heavy user..

people really do miss the main purpose behind the SD.. it aint about a quick gee wow whiz.. its about cheap emphasis on cheap.. reliable long term.. emphasis long term.. e smoking..

the one i am smoking now i have been smoking for nearly six months.. it has been my only e smoking device during this time.. i am a heavy user.. its has been fitted with one new switch after many thousands of presses they wear out

feed it a cheap five dollar atomizer very two weeks send it back for cheap service every three months and it will last for f-cking years.. this is what the SD is about..

to quote my last email..

Hi Ted,

The button on the screwdriver I ordered Jan 27th just broke off :(
Fortunately I have a spare one (the older one with the small button).
Can you repair or replace the broken unit?

This is the first and only problem I have had. Otherwise my
screwdrivers are as powerful as they were when I first got them.

the switch breaks when it gets dropped too often.. he will send it back and we will fit him a new switch...

no gee wow whiz review tells the real story.. three months real use tells the real story.. the real story is kind of boring thow.. he he he

trog

ps... but sorry guys and gals.. we are only currently making 30 SDs per week so you cant all have one no matter how good i make it sound..

I just got my Screwdriver on Friday. This device is actually my new favorite. I have a pen style and 901 also, the only reason I got the pen style was that I felt 2 901's was not enough, because I was having reliability issues. I had lots of problems with the battery's on those units, one being that the life just felt short and two I think they are underpowered. Once I tried the screw driver though it thoroughly impressed me. It has a way longer battery life. I used mine all day at work today without changing the battery, that's a first for me. Also I think it fires up the 901 atomizer a lot better than a auto switch battery. It pretty much upgrades the the 901's performance. I am glad I found this device before I dumped out too much cash on other gear. I will admit the sticker shock kinda made me hesitate for a few days before I ordered it. The exchange rate thing sucks :( but in the long run the operating costs should be a lot lower. I bought 8 battery's for about 12 dollars as spares and 9 RN4075 (all they had left in aluminum color) atomizers for cheap from China. I would recommend this product to anyone that is tired of dealing with faulty underpowered battery's and having to rotate chargers and honestly just want a great hit off your E cig everytime you use it. One more thing you can apparently buy or make adaptors to make it work with other atomizers if you absolutely hate the 901 atomizers, although I like the 901 atomizer better on the Screwdriver. If you can afford one at least give it a try.

Heheheh... I just bought the Ultimate kit, so I can be the decider.

Truth is, I want to try it both ways (and I only mean the SD). I am pretty much sold on the SD due to it's functionality. I need a long lasting battery with a manual switch. I DJ, and have found that the loud music & vibrations have killed two batteries, two atomizers, and two USB pass-through devices. I may only end up using the SD while working (also have a mini-pipe and e-cigar that I like using at home) but even so, I'm getting exactly what I paid for.

Thanks Trog :)

[edit] Now about using a carabiner instead of a lanyard... that would look more appropriate.

Can't edit posts, I guess. But I wanted to add this is the only device I am currently using thus far.

a bit to add to the SD story.. around christmas time a well known UK e cig seller took to an SD to china.. we planned to get them mass produced in china.. the chinese factory man said yes we can make those for you.. he promised a test sample mid february.. we sat back and waited for it..

they have not come thru.. much time was wasted.. this is the real reason a whole lot more folks aint using SDs.. the bloody chines factories failed to deliver..

and they are that busy flogging their balls off trying to meet demand for the current stuff they sell they aint likely to... he he he

turning down wholesale orders for a thousand SDs at time from several different counties is kind of painfull.. he he he
