I would say this was the "Most helpful poster of the year"

untitled.jpg

Did I win?

My older sibling Ageispolis comes to mind.
encouraged me to try vaping, sang its' praises among friends and coworkers, and supported my shift to vaping through thick and thin, and gave out a great deal of mid-level gear to student smokers.
Encouragement from Ageispolis why I'm vaping this holiday, along with my girlfriend and several mutual cohorts. He's an asset to the hobby and forum alike.

So many great members!

Really- a big thank you to all the members who are so supportive and helpful. Especially in New Members! It's not always easy to answer the same questions over and over but many of you do repeatedly and pretty cheerfully. Think of all of the people you've helped get off cigarettes and potentially the lives you've help save.

This forum owes a big thanks to all of the great members!

I do what I can, but really, we all do. It's about paying it forward. Others, especially Baditude, helped me along and I, in turn, try to help others. My mission is to make vaping easy and accessible to every person who wants to try it. There are many members who have far more experience and knowledge than I do, but I use what skills I have, which I think is being able to simplify concepts to make them easier to understand.

I can't stress enough how important it is to pay close attention to what new vapers are looking for and not to scare them away with too much information they can't process. This is a new world and a new language for many of them and we have to keep that in mind. It's also important to remember that many of our new members have unsuccessfully tried to quit smoking more than once and are skeptical that these electronic cigarette thingys are going to work. They are hesitant to make a financial commitment and there is often fear - if this doesn't work, what else is left?

The current trend is rebuilding. Yes, it may give a better vape, and yes it may save people money on the long run, but for many new vapers it's not an appropriate suggestion. If they are asking what to buy for a first kit, it's nuts to put a multi-meter and Kanthal on their must have list. There are new members, as opposed to new vapers, where the topic is relevant, but we need to pay attention to the difference. Rawr.

I completely agree with everything that The Ocelot said above. She's my star pupil and in many ways has exceeded whatever I have been able to contribute to this community. :D There are many others who have been helpful and I refrain from naming them for fear of leaving someone important out.

I too cringe when I see members recommend a rebuildable to a new vaper. Please consider the level of experience of the questioner before recommending a rebuildable using sub-ohm coils and telling them of the clouds you make. These are advanced devices that many vapers will never consider trying due to their complexity. You are only adding to their confusion. Please use the KISS principle - keep it simple stupid.

I've always been about education, sharing what knowledge and experience that I have accumulated. Try to remember what it was like when you first started vaping. Please don't use abreviations. Explain things in a way that someone off the street and with little knowledge in the vaping terminology will be able to understand easily. Provide helpful links or images. Be patient and kind. And above all listen to what the OP is asking. I get such satisfaction knowing that I have helped someone in a small way to be able to quit smoking or to better enjoy their vaping experience. It's all about the Pay-It-Forward philosophy. Someone helped you at one time, repay it forward to another.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all and yours. I'd like to take this opportunity to give a special thanks to all of you who kept me in your thoughts and prayers and provided support while I go through one of the most stressful times of my life. I can never repay your gratitude enough. Bless you all.

Well, hmm. So many great people have posted so much helpful information. When I lurked, I was allowed to, so a vote to all creators and Mods for making it All Inclusive, so to speak, so that people like myself could get comfy in this world without having to dive right in. I got my toes wet first.

Because I am a noob to the "e-cig" world and a forum noob, a vote to the Mods for being so helpful in the site feedback and help section:

Sonic for helping with my signature issues when nothing was working
Smokey Joe for looking into the loading times
Caridwen for helping me learn to post images and .gif correctly
Joker, Joker, Joker, for taking the tiime to verify member information for SO MANY people

Forum members that come to mind for different reasons:

EvilZoe, because she likes to play, super quick wit and the perfect amount of snarky. For co-creating a lettuce printer also.
Elfy for being so incredibly funny and really really helpful to noobs or anyone
Robino1 for her awesome knowledge and being as active in CASAA, because that helps ALL of us. She's just terribly nice, very smart and funny.
Meanckz for being my first "friend" and welcoming.
Ocelot for being incredibly informative in all things Provari, for those who have one, desire one, or don't know anything about them, Ocelot treats all equally. I miss the "pirate hat Ocelot", but they're all so beautiful. (and now it's magically back!!)
Myrany for sharing knowledge and it's always such good stuff. I've ready many posts because Myrany's name was on them.
Baditude. He's Baditude, 'nuff said.
Madqatter for the avatar. One of my absolute faves! (And I really hope you're feeling better.)

Picking just one...... How??

If I can Only vote Once the I would have to go with Baditude.

But there are many more that come to mind as well. I honestly would like to say thank you to all the wonderful people here for helping me out, way before I joined. Google takes me here every time.

I Nominate ECF as the most helpful vaping resource 2013 :)

But there are many more that come to mind as well. ...

Absolutely there are.

There are Many Helpful Members who are Constantly giving Advise or their own Perspective. Sometimes also the Most Helpful post in a Thread comes from some Newbie with 17 Posts.

It's the Sum Total of All the Members here that makes the ECF a Great Place.

I think this is one of the best posts I have seen on ECF. Very true statements about how to handle the people new to the world of vaping. We were all new to this stuff when we started. Shoot, I am still new in a lot of ways and have so much to learn. I think it is great to hang out in the New Members section of the forum and offer the support and the info the new ones need.
Well said !!!!!!
