Most powerful passthru

I’m looking to the possibility of choosing a pass-through device and I’d like to know what the experience on this forum has learned. I know that high power is dependent on the power source but also I’ve read here that not all of these devices are created equal. The atty style is not important as long as adapters will work but I think manual activation is important.
Do any of them actually deliver the 5v offered by USB specs? Do they limit in any way what current the supply is capable of delivering? Dependability is also of concern so knowledge of failures will be helpful.
I know much has been written about this here but unless I’ve missed it, I haven’t found a comprehensive discussion that has led me to a decision. Please forgive me if I’m being redundant.

The Puresmoker passthrough is the industry standard, for good reason- it rocks. It's built like a stainless steel Sherman tank, the button mechanism is solid, comfortable, and completely reliable, and it vapes at the consistent 5V sweet spot. Mine didn't come with a wall plug to convert the USB plug to standard household current, but other 5V wall plugs designed to convert to a 5V USB work great with it. Screw at standard 801 or 510 atty onto it, drip to your heart's content, and you're good to go.

I didn't want to pay big bucks for a passthrough and I have tried many of the cheap ones. I ended up making my own using a box mod. Been vaping on it for a month now - it's awesome!! and it only cost me around 8 bucks. You need to find a usb port that outputs 1.5 to 2 amps. Most of the AC to USB converters I looked at were rated at 500 miliamps. I ended up buying Sony PSP Go power supply in which the USB ouput is rated at 1.5 amps. I had to cut off the tabs that made it Sony proprietary.

That is excellent advice, and I wonder if you would mind providing a link to that wall-adapter, and more detailed instructions (and/or pictures) of your PT.

I have successfully used an iPhone wall-to-USB adapter (5V @ 1Amp), but that is really the absolute bare minimum required to operate an atomizer.

PureSmoker passthrough. Hands down. Solid, milled aluminum, 5volt, 24 guage usb cord. Besides a lower price, even though for what you get the price is fair, everything about it is A+.

Buy it. You won't regret your purchase.

Might have to look into the PureSmoker PT. I have the reg 510 PT but it seems to work fine..

When I first got into vaping I read a lot here and went on a spending binge. I bought 2 510 kits, a Evo, 4 extra mega batteries, 15 atomizers, many types of e-juice, a mega battery charger, PCC and also a 510 PT which is new still in the box. With all that I really have no need or see a need for the PT. The PCC I tried and may find a need for it some day but pretty much PT.....was a waste of money (which I do...a lot)

I will follow this thread to learn more cause I had no idea there was any difference between USB passthroughs...thought they were all the same unlike atomizers etc.

it's super easy to make your own pt, i made myself one and it cost under ten bucks to make. I'm sure if you look trough the modding section you could find instructions for it

Here are pictures of the PSP Go power supply and the box mod PT. I got the power supply from best buy. The picture doesn't show it very good but there is a little strip of plastic that you need to cut off to use a regular USB plug.
