For the past week or so I have had a slight sinus infection, with drainage and coughing. I have thought back and it started when I was vaping mostly my DIY juices. I had been using alot of vendor juices for the weeks prior which are more 50/50 pg/vg. In my DIY the only PG in them comes from the flavors. Could the high VG content of mine cause this or am I just overthinking it?

It is possible. I have an intolerance to PG, and I feel the same way you described after smoking 50/50 juice. When I make my own juices, i mix 70VG/30PG and dont seem to have a problem.

If you want to narrow down what it could be vape your PG straight, vape the VG straight, and see how you feel after each.

I can't vape the PG straight. I don't own any. ;) The only PG comes from my flavors

I agree with Big Jim do a 100% test of each to see your reaction. I do get more congestion from too much VG myself so yes its possible although there seems to be more people who have problems with PG who vocalize it here. I only add enough VG to get some clouds and it works fine for me if its 30% or lower.

It's also allergy season in most parts of the US. Pollens, grasses, molds are all in full swing. These irritants can develop into allergies at any point in time. While I could see VG causing some "heaviness" that could be interpreted as congestion I don't see it developing into a sinus infection.
Also, make sure your DIY equipment and bottles are squeaky clean (I pour boiling distilled water in my glass bottles before use) and your supplies fresh.

I went and bought some juices from a local b&m that are 70/30 and I honestly feel much better. I have taken some allergy medicine but I am honestly thinking it was more of the high VG content I have been using simply based on how I feel when I am vaping. The hit just feels so much smoother and I don't get choked up at all. I had a very similar episode several months ago and chalked it up as a winter cold, but thinking back, it was exactly when I started DIY juices. Very odd, but I think it is solved!
