I never met my adopted fathers father BUT being from brooklyn they loved their meat, but he only ate it warm, thats right moo and all....my dad told me stories about how he would stalk the butch for the best cut and pay a dollar extra (which back then was a TON of money) to get it before others could.

My grandfather was a great musician! He mostly played the piano but he also wrote music, played in bands, taught students, etc. When I was little, he played Beatle's songs for me on the piano over and over and over again!

I can only hope it was "Here Comes the Sun." ;)

One time my dad got home from a dinner meeting with some vendors. He came home pretty wasted... needless to say my mom was extremely upset. That night my dad made a bet with one of my friends. My dad lost. My mom made him pay up even though he tried to back out saying he was drunk. He wasn't happy about it but did pay up.

He also loved his pipes. One of my favorite "photos" (it's actually an Ektachrome (sp?) slide) is of him and myself on the front porch of my childhood home: Daddy has just lit his pipe, and he is leaning over and holding the match for me to blow out (as I delightedly did!).

Of course, nowadays, doing that with a 4 year-old would probably bring Child Welfare Services to your house to bust up the family! :grr:

Really Like reading some of these "stories" about your Dad's (Biological. Adopted, Surrogates, Step-dad's, Uncle's and Granddad's) . . .

All Special each and everyone of them . . . NICE ! ! ! :D

And after reading what everyone had to say about their Dad's I thought I would share also . . . I even wrote a whole long story here - but it was to personal so I delelted it . . .

Oh Well . . . Moving On . . . Maybe I tell you something Funny later . . . :D
