I lost my best friend to cancer from chewing tobacco. He told me his Doc's told him chewing tobacco was worse, in their opinion, than smoking tobacco. I don't know. . .didn't make me feel any better. Lost my second best friend to heart attack. He smoked non filtered Camel's like a chimney. 3 packs a day, but he was much younger than my best friend. Guy that chawed was 68, Camel smoker was only 42. Hope what I'm a doin now is better than what I was a doin and what they did. Think it needs some studyin, and I guess I'll find out.

Be Happy, LIve long,
Cheers,

That doctor obviously hasn't read the studies that show that smokeless tobacco has HALF the risk of oral cancer than smoking!

Oral cancer is actually extremely rare. From what I've read from the harm reduction experts, only about 1-2% of smokeless tobacco users have the risk of oral cancer. When anti-tobacco groups warn that smokeless tobacco users have a 50% greater chance of mouth cancer over non-tobacco users, they neglect to tell you that mouth cancer is so rare in non-tobacco users that even 50% greater chance is small. Not only that, only one or two studies estimate 50% risk - many others put it as low as 20-30% higher risk, which is still only 1-2% of ST users.
