Well, your taste buds are waking up and all of a sudden your tasting flavors you couldn't before! Unfortunately this means all the awful flavors too. I don't think this is as common, but it is normal. Even after brushing, there is bacteria in your mouth, especially on your tongue. Seeing as you quit yesterday, you still have residual cigarette toxins in your system. It should go away in a few days (sometimes weeks) after quitting.
I quit almost two weeks ago, and I went through the same thing, right before a nasty bout of "vapor's tongue". Now, the vapor's tongue is subsiding, and my mouth tastes sweeter to me than it did when I was a smoker. They key is brush regularly (no brainer) maybe try brushing with baking soda, it absorbs odors/tastes. After a week or two you can even get that cleaning, and DRINK WATER. Lots of it. You will stay hydrated and the water will help to flush the cigarette toxins out of your body. It will also help "dry mouth", common to vaporers and smokers alike, which is when halitosis and mouth odors/tastes really flourish.
