Well I have finally had enough of atomizers so today started using the cartomizers, and what a difference in taste and flavour, so that was a nice surprise. I filled up two cartomizers using the condom method....
Only I am not sure how many drops to add to the cartomizer, so I think I did about 25 drops and let it sit for a while....I tried the first cartomizer out and it was really cool,l very fresh and clean tasting, so I have been vaping on that for a little while and got a bit worried that it might dry out so thought I would switch to the other cartomizer....only when I took a couple of small puffs I got a mouthful of yukky stuff......so....did I overfill it do you think, also will it evaporate and be ok...I am not quite sure what to do with it.....soooo confused....I feel like I am really not having a good time with ecigs as I seem to screw everything up.....feeling so fed up and just want to go buy ciggys...don't know what is wrong with me....
Anyway thanks for any help...

After filling the carto up, I suggest holding it over a paper towel and blowing through it to get any excess out of it. It's easy to overfill them, which could give you a mouthful. Vaping is really a non-stop learning experience, but you will get the hang of it with time. And keep asking questions, and reading some similar posts, that's how we all learn.
Don't give up, we have all been there at one time or another.

And there is nothing wrong with you ;)

Even though you are getting the nicotine, this is still a big chemical transition for your body. You are going to feel a bit out of sorts. Nicotine is a stimulant, and tobacco has chemicals that go in the opposite direction.

Don't sweat it if you have an analog. Just vape before you use it. Some here make a clean transition between smoking to vaping, some gradually shift.

This too, shall pass.

I found that I never could get the condom method to work. One of the girls showed me that if you fill it through the drip tip until it drips out the bottom and then lightly blow through it you're good to go. I don't even have to let it sit (have a thin juice though). I understand how you feel though. For the first week I messed up 6 cartos trying to get it right. I had to be shown again and now it's working great. Keep at it you will get it, like with everything new there's a learning curve :) I ran out of cartos on Sunday and broke down and bought a pack of cigs. So I restarted my counter yesterday because I felt like I was starting over when I got my new cartos and my tutoring session LOL

Keep on Vaping!!!

Cartomizers can hold around 30 drops and the bigger ones more....it is always better to overfill just a tad and blow off excess than to have a burnt carto from not having enough liquid in it.... when it looks like a slushy you are good to go..

Figured I'd ask my question here instead of starting a new thread since I have cartos on the way.

How do you know when to top up a carto? Will it start to taste burnt? Does that ruin it if it gets too dry? Will it last as long as a ego-t tank?

Thanks.

...to the OP...what everone else said.......

...to nod...when the taste gets off, kinda cottony and dry it is time to top it up...if you get a burnt taste, it is too long and may not be saveable...you should be able tell pretty easily when it is time...especially if/when you burn one.....

Being fairly new to all of this myself, I'm making the transition from tanks to cartos. Right now using both. My local vape shop showed me how to fill the cartomizers using the "condon" method. Very easy. Now that I have them home, it's "pucker time" as it's on me and ECF :) to figure out the rest. Like yourself, I'll prolly screw a few things up . . . so. It's how we learn. Don't be too hard on yourself. Read the replies that you receive and use the info to help you with the learning curve. (points at OT, Sugar, Balth and Stormie)

I plan to use the syringe method to fill. I've heard of people taking apart their cartos and finding that the bottom is totally dry so filling with a syringe from the bottom up makes sense to me. Not to mention the condom method looks messy and wasteful. But, I have no clue yet. Guess I'll try and see what works for me.

So sitting here vaping away waiting for the cottony dry taste to happen before the burn taste happens lol....I guess we will soon figure that one out lol.....thanks for that though as I know what to look for now..
My question about the syringe...can you just buy the syringes in the drug store..chemist...with the needles, or will they think I am some kind of drug user...do I have to explain what I want the needle for...I have found the condom method easy so far although have only done it this morning..slightly a bit messy but not to much, but I would like to try the syringe method as I guess its good to try everything....but am a bit worried about going to the chemist and asking for a needle lol....how does everyone else get them ? I am in the United Kingdom...not sure if that makes a difference....thanks, Sandy

You should be able to ask your pharmacist for a syringe. Ours here will see them for .50-$1.00. There are vendors that sell the needles and kits also.....but I really have no idea about your country......look for things related to diabetes.....jmho
