Quiz time, everyone!

The theme this week is Assorted Movies That I've Enjoyed To Varying Degrees.

Which is to say, there's really no theme at all. :D

There are eight screenshots below. Most of them should be fairly recognizable if you've seen the films. So, which of these movies can you identify?

Please answer with movie numbers only, not titles..

Enjoy!

Here are some better late than never hints... Sorry so late!

#1: Quentin Tarantino's second movie. In the scene pictured, Christopher Walken is presenting a watch to a little boy, and telling him the story of how it was kept hidden from his captors while he was a prisoner of war in Vietnam.

#4: That's David Arquette trying to repel a giant spider by spritzing a little cologne at it. Mutated, gargantuan spiders have overrun a former mining town, and they're hiding out and breeding in the abandoned mines. The movie also stars a 17-year-old Scarlett Johansson.

#5: In this American Civil War film, Matthew Broderick plays the Colonel in charge of the first all-black company of soldiers.

#8: Kevin Kline's character is a really nice, charitable guy who runs a Washington DC temp agency. He is also a dead-ringer for the US President. Because of this, he is recruited by the Secret Service to serve as a Presidential double at a public appearance. It's supposed to be a one-off gig, but things don't quite go as planned.

Hope these help! :)

    in a cave, eh?
More hints if you need 'em:

    1. Samuel L. Jackson delivers the classic line, "English, motherf---er. Do you speak it?"
    2. An unscrupulous but charming local celebrity from the Australian outback brought into civilization has trouble figuring out the dunny and apparently hasn't seen any tv since "I Love Lucy".
    3. Jimmy Stewart has a 6 foot, 3 1/2 inch invisible rabbit for a best friend.
    4. An homage to 50's B-movies like "Them" pits David Arquette against giant mutant spiders in this comedy- horror. (Not to be confused with that other film where Jeff Daniels has to deal with an infestation of deadly spiders and a paralyzing fear of spiders in general.)
    5. The bravery shown by the 54th Massachusetts Voluntary Infantry, an all-black regiment, in a tragic assault on Fort Wagner inspires more than 180,000 black men to help the Union win the civil war.
    6. Fear keeps the recently-deceased Albert Brooks stuck in Purgatory, but Meryl Streep can help him move on to the next phase of existence in this romantic-comedy.
    7. Philip Seymour Hoffman, a real piece of work, gets his weak-willed brother Ethan Hawke (their mother's favourite) to rob their parents jewelry store as they both need the money. What was intended to be a victimless crime goes horribly wrong when Ethan Hawke hires an acquaintance who does the job with a real gun while the mother is minding the store. It only gets worse when the brothers try to cover up their activities.
    8. This time it's not Sigourney Weaver but her oddly-behaving husband, Kevin Kline, moving the big robotic arms as he announces, in a publicity stunt, "I once caught a fish ... this ... big."
