Moving on from the Kanger T3. Any suggestions?

Hey all

Getting over the Kanger T3. Many of the coils I've bought recently have been of poor quality, some leaking, some tight as a gnat's ... and so hard to draw on, and most just not producing as much vapour as I'd like. Tried different combinations of pg/vg ratio liquid and batteries, and just feel like trying something new. Tried rebuilding my own coils with inconsistent and unsatisfying results.

I'll stick with my eGo-type batteries for now (got an iTaste VV V.3 coming). So any suggestions for a good tip/clearo/atty that will fit these?

Cheers

I haven't found anything better, but with the T3S, the bases:

..... don't have the best threading that the T3 had. And of course if you don't have the coil fully threaded into the base, you're going to have problems as well. Some won't tighten down enough to get a good contact of center posts. T3 and T3S are some of the easier draw clearos. They can get a bit tight if you don't clean them. I'll let them soak in high proof vodka for about an hour and that is good for about 3 soaks before I pitch them.

The bad connection could cause the low vapor and what might seem like a tighter draw. The best fix for that is the Madvapes circuit board spacer:

Circuit Board Spacer

I've had leaking and draw problems with evods and protanks and see my dual coil thread for eGo's - not good - although the one Aspire dual coil does well.

If T3/T3S weren't available I'd try ARO from Madvapes:

I'd give the Kanger Aerotank Mini a shot. It's the same company as the T3 you're used to, it's Ego-threaded so it's compatible with your new iTaste (awesome device, by the way), and you can use your own drip tip with it if you want (though it does come with a stainless steel one). It's also got adjustable airflow, so you can control whether you want a tighter or looser draw; this will also make the vapor slightly more or less warm.

I love my AeroTank and iTaste vv. I recently got some liquids in that tasted like crap on my ego batteries. Put the same head on my itaste and cranked it up to about 8W and BAM! Flavor and smoothness galore vice a dry peppery nic only hit.

I must say that vaping changed dramatically for me when I ditched the stock silica wicks and went with organic cotton (EVOD and T3S heads). So much more flavor and vapor. Much easier to change flavors too as you just need to rinse the clearo, pull the cotton out, give it a quick dry burn (don't go overboard), rewick the coil, drip some liquid on the cotton (don't dry burn it), fill, and vape on. Literally takes me about 3 minutes max to change a tank over to another flavor.

Cleaning unit is the same thing if performance starts to suffer. I usually re-flavor a clearo before I get bad performance out of it so my wicks are usually fresh :) I plan to have a hand full of EVODs on hand as they are easy to clean and rewick and have a small amount of liquid unlike the T3S which can carry about 3 ml. I think the EVODs are 1.5ml. I hate ditching juice that isn't right for my taste at that time and using up 1.5 ml is much better than getting to the bottom of 3 ml.

Took me a few tries to get the hang of it. I found that using a smaller amount of cotton did the thing for me as I was vaping the wick dry and it would get "cottony". Best thing with cotton is that they are much less likely to flood or gurgle as they expand more than the stock silica to seal the coil unit. I used to get very discouraged by the gurgling.

If you do get an AeroTank be sure to use the trim ring as it supports the unit which may be a little top heavy. Not sure if the mini is larger than the battery or not so the trim ring may not be necessary.

IMO rebuilding kanger heads (EVOD, AeroTank, T3S, and etc) is the way to go if you are up for that thing. It is really easy once you watch a few videos on YouTube, and the iTaste has an ohmmeter to make sure your coils are at the correct resistance (no shorts).
