I don't buy the claim that a person has any appreciable proficiency in 47 different languages. He's be 47 years old assuming the rather unrealistic rate of one a year since birth. It's simply not plausible.
Also, the research shows that language does not shape thoughts or reality perception. For example, I speak Japanese, which really doesn't have a word for "blue", yet we perceive it and think of it just the same as an English speaker or anyone else.
