Just for kicks, home brewery stores sell chipped oak for addition to beer...

Oak's Balancing Act | MoreBeer

Has this been applied to vaping?

There was discussion and if I recall it was tried with very good results using a dark glass bottle and chips. Still the chips soaked up a lot of juice. Another interesting thing besides adding that rich oak wood flavor to the mix was it shortened steep time drastically. If I recall correctly what usually too 3 weeks was ready in a week and the color of the vape was far darker, thicker and richer in flavor then the baseline sample that was steeped naturally with no wood added. I in fact still have both samples and the difference is still dramatic even after a few months.

Here's some good reading on this and towards the end of the thread I give an in depth review of the results.

That is pricy stuff. There was a thread on here not to long ago where the OP did an oak barrel mix and I do have to say it was far cheaper to make then what venders charge for it. But I will say I was sent a sample of that OP's mix and it was out of this world. I can understand the mark up over standard juice because the process is more involved and the oak soaks up a lot of the material so there's a lot of juice loss. Almost twice the markup at 37.50 is a bit excessive. 27.50 though would not be unreasonable.
Danny - I haven't tried the Reserve, but the Mixology Edition Long Castle is extremely good if you like that sort of flavor (which I do). I would imagine that even if you account for the amount that's soaked up by the barrel, they're probably still making a slightly higher margin depending on the labor involved.
