OK As many of you may be aware there is a lot of talk about pending FDA regulations that may or may not come to fruition. Phil has a pretty good and funny video up on his youtube that you should check out. I would post it here but it has NSFW language so I figured I would avoid the mod's wrath and just give you a link. If you are not active in protecting our ability to vape I humbly ask that you take any funds that you may have and send them to CASAA, they are our voice right now and before the gov't get out of hand and bans them be really need to be loud and educate those that oppose.

Take a minute to do the survey

and then
enjoy and get active

Thanks for all the advice on the coils guys. *runs to dig one out of the trash* If I use vodka, do I take them apart or just chunk the whole thing in and soak it for ??? amount of time? I have been a 510 girl for years and just recently (June) broke into ego type stuff.

July was my 4th year of non smoking. WTG Kelli. :)

Just drop the entire coil head into vodka and let it soak overnight. I find it helps to swirl or stir the vodka occasionally. I use a shot glass or an old prescription bottle, and pour enough vodka to cover plus half an inch or so. Hope that helps :)

I do it similar to Stone but I take it some what apart. The tall skinny tube can come off. Slide the gasket up the tube a little the rock (pivoting where the wick goes through the bottom) & pull the tube up. I soak it for a while then take out the 2 flavor wicks (3 one on the bottom has the coil wrapped around it) & I use a syringe to jet vodka at the coil/wick. Let dry, dry burn, reassemble & it's ready to go.

James I have been wondering something. When you test out a flavor what are you using? A dripping atty, rba, carto, clearomizer? I use a variety of delivery devices and would like to match up to what it is you're going for in a juice.

I use a Smoktech RDA. I like it because it is simple design and easy to use. Once you are done with a flavor you can burn it off the wick and try a new one. Also if you wicks are properly maintained you only have to change them every 2 to 4 weeks. Replacing the wicks in simple too. Just takes a some practice and steady hands. So far the week I have dripped graham cracker, caramel apple, faux hawk, berry treat and peanut butter cup on the same wick. I changed my wick about a 1 week ago and if there is any flavor contamination from the previous flavor it usually disappears in 1 to 3 vapes. If you use an RDA you also don't have to worry about vaping "tank crackers". They aren't the best if you like to say vape while driving on a road trip as you do have to drip every X amount of vapes, but for trying different flavors it's my go to.

....and now it's gurgling. *sigh*

Look at it with a magnifying glass in good light.
You want the coils to be evenly distributed and not touching the sides.
Spots where the coils are too close will cause a hot spot.
Did you watch the coil rebuilding Youtube video?
He shows very good close-ups of every step of building and dry burning.
It's a very good vid to study even if you don't plan on rebuilding your coils :thumb:

Just watched the vid you posted Mowgli. Seems like an awful lot of work! lol Not sure I will go that far, but I might at least buy the extra flavor wicks as they seem to fall apart when you take them out to clean your coil. I'm wondering, after watching that, if that's not my problem with it flooding now. Maybe I lost a bit too much on the flavor wick and it's leaking inside. I looked very close and can't see where anything else is bad.

Moonbeat I've replaced the flavor wicks a couple of times with wicks from some top coil tanks I don't use.

Awesome. I thought about this months ago and promptly forgot.
When I do a dry burn the coil is so clean and wick is so nice and white...
Then I put the gunked-up flavor wick on it and close.

I have an iClear 30 and a bunch of vivi novas I don't use.
I saved their old wicks. Yay, new evod flavor wicks :)

Any thoughts on supporting World Vaping Day (September 19, 2013)?
On their supporting vendors page I see Madvapes and a host of other popular vendors. -
