I used to live in West Seattle as a preteen. Never been to Helens but went to Rainier several times. What's sad is when I stayed with my GM during the summer, her balcony and living room had a beautiful view of Rainier and when the hikers would go missing, I would look up there and it's like....they're up there somewhere.

Never went up in the needle though. Now I live in the Midwest and will probably never make it back out there.

I let off a big plume in WallyMart yesterday and had all the great, big, old ladies running for the doors.

LOL, they had to spray about one-third of the store with Febreze!

I was proud of me!

TT

So, you went to Wal-Mart and the airport with your Depends on the same day? You were very busy! How long did you take a nap for after returning home?

Hikers still go missing up there! Somewhere up that Mtn is a cave populated with generations of missing campers, hikers & skiers!
You're not missing much at the Needle anymore. They've had to install so many bars & nets to keep people from jumping off/ climbing up ... that it isn't what it used to be.
It is fun to eat there though. You know the restaurant turns slowly, so if you set your glasses on the window pane, you'll get them back in an hour!

We're pretty spoiled with fresh seafood around here I suppose. But, when I'm in Texas...I like to be sure it's crawdaddy season...cuz THOSE are just the best!

Yep, I like those crawdads myself! When I'm in Texas I make sure to get a Chicken Fried Steak with pinto beans, cornbread and some fried okra and I miss the great B-que sandwiches you can get on every corner for lunch. I'm outta here I'm getting hungry! lol Oh yeah and lots of ice tea!

Hanging out in CA for now
Well, we drove up to Mt. Rainer yesterday....That is one BIG mountain. The visitor area we went to is at 5400 feet and still had snow. Can you say snowball fight! The summit was still 9000 feet above us. Pulled the binoculars out and we watched some hikers making there way to the summit. They are definitely much braver souls than I.

Best Clam Chowder ever at Mukilteo Wharf between Seattle and Everett. I used to eat lunch there all the time when I worked in Everett.

Hmmm.... have to say that clams (littlenecks in particular) are better in the NE. Good seafood in general is cheaper and easier to get here. But the chowder just doesn't compare.... though if I ever visit Mukilteo Warf, I'll be happy to sample some of theirs :)

I haven't tried the Mukilteo wharf...I'll have to try it sometime.
Our favorite chowder is down at Anthony's at the waterfront in Edmonds. It's half price at happy hour (6-9) and delish!!!
Great view too, for those who like watching ferry boats and seagulls who poop on them...

Shhh you are giving away the secret ingredients of the NW Chowder! lol
