Multimeter question

OK so I just got my multimeter in the mail today, I opened up the box and noticed a strange rattling sound. I turned it on anyway and the power was in and out.
So I opened it up and noticed the battery was not fully connected, that would explain the spotty power. But I also found 2 little metal balls rolling around freely. Now, the only thing I can see that they might appear to go would be as part of the dial, but I could be wrong.
So can someone tell me where those are supposed to be??

Is the dial a little loose? My guess is you should take it back to the mall and exchange it.

The dial moves freely. Don't think the mall will help me since I got it from madvapes

Hmmm...not good. Did you do a search online for that model to see if you can find a manual or parts breakdown? I would call MV in the morn.

Yeah, plenty of searching. Found the operation manual, but nothing about the internal bits aside from the circuit board, so basically nothing helpful for this situation. I just need to know where exactly those 2 little bearings are supposed to be LOL I can't believe I haven't found anything about them at all. Guess I'll wait till morning.

Finally figured out where they go. They are to make the dial turn in notches instead of spinning freely.
And let me say they are a PITA! Could only replace both of them with the patience and dexterity of one of those guys who carves or paints grains of rice or with taking the thing completely apart(remove solder/re-solder/all the while praying that you don't nudge something to knock them out of place again) none of this appealed to me LOL. So it has one back and it works fine now.

I bought a Meter from madvapes a long time ago and it did the same thing. The dial was really hard to turn and when I forced it, the ball bearings came loose and were rattling around inside. I didn't bother to fix it because MV sent me out a new one right away and let me keep the broken one as well. Meanwhile, I didn't like the meter that much so I went to Radio Shack and bought a small digital multimeter. What a difference it made!

Well, it's good to know I wasn't alone wolfstone!
When I took that thing out of the box I was like wait a minute, I ordered a meter not a rattle lol,
The dial turns with a little resistance and stays where it's supposed to now, unlike when I first tried it and it just spun around. Hopefully that little ball doesn't pop back out anytime soon though, or I will have to buy a new one.
