Yup, apparently this is the worst week ever as far as batteries are concerned. My battery failed as a result of me dropping it. It was not dropped from very high, but apparently just high enough to kill it. RIP auto batt, you have served me well.

On top of that my buddy and his grandmother both told me about their batteries being on the fritz. His battery (reg manual) is starting to have issues with the button as it seems to be getting harder and harder to initialize. Her battery apparently is just a dud in general as she has only been using it for about a week.

I am not worried about them not being taken care of at all as V4L has the best customer service on the internet today, rather I was just venting. I guess this works out perfectly too because I was really eyeballing the manual XL batt. Now I just have to talk the girlfriend into letting me place an order. :D

I'm not sure if this is exactly what I did or did not want to hear. Let me scurry off to check the budget and I'll get back to you. :D

Justin,

What part of DFW are you in? I'm about 30 miles NE of Dallas, off I-30.

If we can work it out, I'll let you have a couple of auto batteries.

It'll be a good chance for me to "pay it forward".

Sir, I very much so appreciate the offer but I could not accept that. It's great to know that the mindset is still out there (here), but it doesn't change the fact that I wouldn't feel right just taking something from anyone.

I can't tell you how much I truly do appreciate the offer, though.

Oh, and to answer your question - I live on the west side of Ft. Worth. I do have some family in the McKinney area though.

I have dropped my batt a few times from head height im about 5'9" and its fallen out of my ear a few times straight to the ground I usually sit it in my ear to keep it close but ive learned my lesson I now stick it in my hat when im out and about. Easy to see and grab a lanyard would seem like a great idea but im not a lanyard type of guy.

this is my ONLY battery so if it died im SOL I need to purchase a new batt or two to make sure im not vapeless if another drop kills this one. I must have been lucky because mine is still going strong and can go 2 days before having to charge.

It wouldn't be "taking". It would be friend-helping-friend. Remember, I was raised by old Texas country folk. If I say it - I mean it.

The offer stands, my friend.
