hey guys,

i'm sure this is the billionth "do my research for me" thread, but while i've been reading a ....load on vv/vw and mechs, i don't know the first thing about eGos and the like, and seeing as i'll probably never go down that path i thought you guys could help.

i want to buy my mother an inexpensive and basic e-cig/vape for her birthday, but i also want it to be relatively pain-free if possible. obviously i'll do all the maintenance for her as part of the gift but the less messing about the better - just fill, go, trash.

needs: inexpensive, low maintenance, slimline, lightweight, feminine (if these are realistic criteria)
irrelevant: cloudchasing, deep flavours, vv/vw (will likely overcomplicate things), huge battery life

my budget is probably about $40 not including juice.

where should i start?

thanks guys! :D

For simplicity and ease of use I would get an ego(feminine colors are widely available) with a kanger t3s.

Personally I love bottom coil tanks and the t3s is just simple enough for anyone to understand but has the benefit of not having to buy an expensive new tank every time you burn one out.

If you want vv you can go with ego twist for a little bit more money, I would suggest doing it.

for the ladies, nothing says glamor and opulence quite like a rhinestone encrusted eGo.

Being a new to vaping quit analog user after only 4 weeks here is what I learned. More then one flavor a must with extra carts or batteries, variable voltage makes the transition much easier. Different flavors work much better at different voltages. If I would of known this to start I would of opted for spending the extra dollars for the VV batteries and made it much easier on my self.

If you can find a vaping brick and mortar store near you and talk to them about what you are doing they can be so help full.

Good luck and I hope your mother appreciates what you are doing for her.

I got my mom to switch to vapes last weekend. Went to a local vape store and she picked out her own ego twist color. It came with an ego carrying case, an ego charger, and clearomizer (cheapy kind). I've seen those package deals all the time in shops for around 30-35 bucks. I know that I could have gotten a better deal online but my mom had a kick out of picking her own stuff out. So easily amused. lol.

I did, however, pick up a kanger mini protank 3 for under 10 bucks online and giving to her next weekend. I've never used a cheapo ego-type clearomizer before but they are pretty meh. Too easy to get burnt hits and have to roll around the tank so the juice will wick properly. I'm hoping the bottom fed mini protank will illiminate this. Good luck man.

Even though you say vv/vw not as relevant, I LOVE my iTazte vv3. It's a lighter-weight, slimline that you can "set and forget" (I have the pearl grey, but I'd really like the chameleon sometime.) I do use EVOD tanks, but I'm sure there are others out there with different preferences. Someone posted DesertVapes' website recently with a fabulous price (under $30 USD) for the mod. Not sure if they'll ship to you "down under", but I'm sure someone will.

There are plenty of pre-filled cartomizers out there (510 threading) that will fit the vv3, but I do prefer the tanks, as the flavor is a little cleaner/fresher.

Happy Birthday to your Mum - glad she has a child who's looking out for her :)

I have am Itaste MVP v2 a kamry k100 (fully mechanical) and a vision spinner 1300mah.
    My favorite.... The spinner.
    Its 510 and ego
Even though its not VW I get a better burn with it than I do my MVP. Not sure why. But its better.

If I were you I would get her the itaste vv V3 kit.
It comes with 3 or 5 of the iclear 16 tanks.
Those are top wick though and give a different flavor than bottom wick tanks
I also have kanger pro tank and kanger protank minis and I would avoid both because they leak the bottom WIC system in the Kanger is vary very prone to leaking that is where the top wicks system wins through and through they rarely if ever leak
    I also have I clear 30 and I clear 30s tanks that I don't use often.

My favorite is the Aspire bdc tank because of its unique design coil and wick it offers the best flavor the best vapor out of all my tanks.
Because it is a bottom coil design it will leak if you let it get too low so that's something to keep in mind

I'm going down the same path for girlfriend right now and I've decided to get her a Kanger EVOD Twist because the vv is simple, twist the bottom to raise or lower the voltage. That way she can just take a hit and if she feels like it's too much or too little she can easily fix it. I'm also getting her Kanger EVOD Glass tanks because they have a metal sheath around the glass tank. Benefits of a non-plastic tank without as much likelihood of being broken. Doesn't come completely apart, but frankly I don't want her to have to mess with something too complicated at first.

I'm probably getting her 2 of each of them so she can have spares, and they come in a hot pink that I know she'll like. Make sure you pick up an ego charger if you go this route. Altogether it's going to cost me around $65-ish

I agree the Aspire BDC tends to leak, especially once you get down to 1/3 full. However, I find the Aspire ET-S doesn't leak at all even if you vape it down to empty. AND it's glass. AND it's ego-threaded. Perfect for a spinner or an MVP
