Back when all the "cool kids" in the local Austin bands were playing and enjoying the party, Gary Clark Jr was perfecting his art. No one in the ATX music scene paid him much notice. I remembering hearing friends in bands call him "the kid", laughing at his clumsy, awkward style. None of them play anymore...but Gary Clark Jr, he is a master. The "kid" was/is serious about his craft.
