Tomorrow is the day I get my first ever order to start DIY. so very excited. I started small only got 250 ml each of PG, VG, and nic with a few flavors from recipes that I found that sounded good. Besides the bases what flavors would you say you should always have on hand in large quantities? It seems vanilla custard is in about everything so I kinda figured having a larger bottle of that would be good. But what else? I know this is gonna cost me some up front but in the long run it will be cheaper. Already trying to figure out what to get next and how much. Really wish I could afford to go big, but budget will limit me on that. TIA

Going big costs about $200 and buys enough supplies for 4+ years. I spent more than that to smoke for a month.

But keep in mind you spent that over time or at least I did. This first order was not eve 60 so that made me happy. But not sure how much liquid I will get made for that. I went to nude nic and just for 2-1 liter bottles of PG and VG and a 250 ml of nic I was at 80. My wife would kill me. And there was not any flavors in that.

For me? When I found Vanilla Custard, I was pretty much done.
I'll add a hit of Banana, Strawberry, Peach or any fruit I like really on occasion when I tire or get a little bored of just straight VC. Blueberry is my recent favorite to mix in it.

Find what you like most, get larger Quantities of that.
PG/VG/nic you'll likely need liters of that stuff.
I run only 4-5% flavour so still do not need tons of any one.
Except a couple 30ml. botts of VC when it's time to mix up a liter. YMMV.

Edit. I only use PG and get a liter from the compounding pharmacy for 20 bucks. THAT is a lot of vapin'!

Your flavors on hand will depend largely on your taste and flavor profile. Do you like bakery, custards, fruits, fruit creams, tobaccos, etc? This information should help in getting you the feedback that you are looking for from the members.

Well my adv has been this clear ry4 that I found. Besides that I do fruit loops and any kind of blueberry. I found a recipe for a green tea kit Kat that sound great so I am starting with that and a fruit loop donut. The next order will be for this ry4 custard I found and a blue balls clone.

Those seem about right. I saw so many recipes with those items in them. Would switch that strawberry for blueberry but other than that sounds good. Most of those were in my next list. The stuff I was looking at making had most of that stuff in it. Thanks for the advice.

Another reason to buy more nic is that we expect the FDA will eventually place some restrictions on nic purchases. Of course, that all depends on how the new administration feels about vaping and whether they reel in the current FDA deeming regulations. I bought 2 liters that should last me 18 years at 3mg nic and 10ml vaping daily. Freeze the nic in smaller glass bottles, put them in zip locks in case of leaks or breakage, then put the bottles in a box in the freezer, and keep enough out to last you 6 months or so at a time and it will last indefinitely.

Pretty much sums it up. I might would add some cotton candy and marshmallow to the list.

So I am at 3 and the wife is at 6. With the immediate price being kinda high at the liter I might have to do smaller sizes each time. I do want to stock up for sure. I really should of done this sooner, but my budget was either go diy and have nothing to vape immediately or have stuff to vape now. Tax time I will really stock up for sure.

Anybody who is going to be a life long vaper will be mixing and rebuilding sooner or later. There are just too many advantages. When I started I was certain I'd never do either one. The moment I started each of them I never went back. It can be made very complicated or very simple. I've kept it simple.

I have every single one of these!!! Amazing. However, I'm surprised that Dragonfruit made the list. I think I'd substitute Vanilla Bean Ice Cream in its place.

Ditto on the Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, and I would get the following:

RY4 Double (TFA): get a healthy quantity of that one because it's usually used at 8-9%.
EM 10%
AP
Dulce De Leche (great with bakery and RY4 mixes)

Don't go crazy collecting flavors - you started right: pick some that are in recipes that sound good.
Til you find a couple repeatable favorites...then you're saving $$.
Don't worry - it'll pay off. My favorite liquid ever? Costs me $1.65 to make a 30 ml bottle...(not that I do anymore - I make like 300mls at a time).

I DO recommend TFA Double Ry4.
It's a decent 1-flavor mix, but I've done all kinds of blends with it - the "tobacco" is very light, but it's kind of sweet and creamy - so I've mixed it with fruits.

And an all-time fave, creamy Ry4, I add some Bavarian Cream, and some "AP" (acetyl pyrazine) for a little "nutty" added.

I think what your doing is smart. It's better to start off small and get to mixing before investing more cash. Starting off with to much tends to over whelm. When you get the hang of DIY you will get a better sense of what works and what don't. This can save you cash over the long run by not buying what you don't need or what don't work. Think about what flavor profile your vaping now and order along those lines, you can always expand that later. Look up similar flavor profile recipes to what you vape now and use that as a spring board into DYI.

Really good tasting and easy flavors to work with can be found here. Start with 8% for any of them. See if there's something there you like. Look at there house flavors and blends.
