Just tried to rig this new Mut X V4 with its first coil and found the screws are not able to tighten down to the wire. The bottom of the screws just touch enough to give an ohm reading but just the touch of the coil to center it over the air holes or in anyway make any adjustments the wire almost fall out.
I tried 22 gage (the largest gage I have) and it will not even hold....
The screws are also loose..like they are not only to short but to small diameter wise.

I just left my local B&M vape shop and he said he has had not problems with any he's sold or any he's used...which is what he's dripping right now...so I'm thinking I need a larger screw but don't know what size so does anyone know what size screw is used with the Mut X V4?

Thanks!

You might be able to take the whole rda to a local machine shop and they might be able to help. You probably have a metric M(?) screws. They have a micrometer and can tell you the outside diameter and threads per inch. Knowing the specs you should be able to order on line. Suggest you order the closest size and one size up (2 separate sizes) Good luck.

Thanks for the reply...
That would be an idea as I do not have anything to measure such as that so I will look into that!!
Just sucks cause I love the vape on this thing but rigging up the coils to the screw heads is a pain for me and puts the wires to close for comfort!!

Yep, machinist will be able to help - if not, you could always get a clone for spare parts. You might also want to find a new vape store as well. If that's all you got from the guy in terms of after sale service, that's really bloody poor.

Thanks for the response...
Oh..the local vape shop was not where I purchased it..I got it from web vendor...but I was just wondering if he had had any problems with any he sold. He offered to have a look at it..but I didn't have it with me and we are leaving town for a couple of months and I really didn't/don't have time to run back by...

I'll get it sorted out and I had not thought of ordering a clone...that is something I will be looking at tonight as I while away the time in a motel room on the road!!

Love this Mut....can't give it up now!!

I have a similar problem. My RDA Chinese clone's post's internal tapped threader was worn so bad that the male "screw" wobbled in the post nut. Just a bare minimum thread contact to achieve mating with the internal thread. Why? Sloppy machining-Chinese machinist or cheap manufacturer who did not listen to the machinist or ignorance on all. Fortunately, the Chinese manufacturer --Shenzhen Sinvot Technology Co.,Ltd. supplied the RDA with socket heads (*grub"), Suggest you order stainless steel hex socket head machine screws if you can get them--No head/headless screw length will not be a factor in contacting/securing your wire. If neither of the screws you buy does not screw in, there is another alternative. A machinist can redrill and tap to different diameter providing there is enough post support material to allow for a larger hole. Harden self tapping screws will work, if you know what your doing, often times too.

Sounds a lot like my problem...but not only are the screws very loose in the post...they are clearly at least 24 gage wire from !

Thanks for the reply and the link.

Just waiting for the web site vendor to let me know what they are going to do to help me out....if they do not let me know something in the next couple of days I'll just order a $10 clone and see if the screws will solve my problem.

All over the place
Yeah, I had this same problem. I sold mine (which I typically do anyway). But if I had it now, I would replace those Phillip's head screws with socket heads/grub screws. I am not sure what size it they use in the Mutation Xv4, but it's likely M2, M2.5 or M3. You can find those from various places, but I recently got mine from Fatdaddyvapes. You will not have that problem of them backing out if you switch to grub/socket head screws.
