MVP 2.0 Do I need ohm checker?

Hey guy, I have a MVP 2.0 and a rba int the mail. My question is with it having a built-in resistance checker on it should I still buy an ohm/voltage meter, or will the built-in one work just fine for reading the ohms on my rba? Thank for any help you guys have to offer.

I've rebuilt coils and used my mvp2 to check them. Works fine. But if you got the spare money I say buy a separate checker. Fairly cheap and one day the stars will align to where you want one. Patience isn't my strong point so I try to be proactive. Case in point for me: my rda doesn't sit as far down into the MVP as my tanks do. Result? The tanks caused my firing pin to be recessed (and refuses to nicely be pried up) so my rda doesn't make contact and can't check my ohms. Ie I'll be ordering a checker tomorrow.

Thank you, I plan on buying one next pay just wanted to make sure I would be okay with building my coils for the next couple weeks til I can get one. Forgot to add it to the order and don't wanna pay another shipping charge without a full order.

The MVP will work fine. Another nice thing about the ohm checker is you can use it as a stand to secure the RBA while working on it.

I have a multi-meter, but I never use it. I don't have an MVP, but most of my stuff has OHM checkers built in. I just use those, it's much simpler

Really wish the MVP would go up to 6 volts or 15 watts. I want one, but that isn't quite enough power for me

I ordered one from fasttech just to be safe..I'm afraid of ruining a battery!

Be careful! Many of those cheapo multimeters don't read ohms very accurately and the cheap ones do not have a zeroing adjustment. Unless you get a good one, you are better off with your MVP. Mine is a heck of allot more accurate that my cheapo HF meter anyway.

You could use the MVP to get a general idea of the resistance range on your coils. I found that its a little cheap though, as my multimeter and provari would give me a more accurate reading. Not THAT big of a deal especially if its only gonna be fired on the MVP.
