Same issue with my MVP2. I also leave it a little unscrewed (until the ohm meter matches what my other ohm reader says) and snug it all up with the beauty ring. I still don't understand why loosening it is giving a better connection. It goes from NON to various ohms to 0.0. I have to get it just right to work properly. ( I have also pulled up on the center pin but the issue does not go away)
