FWIW, I'm with you. I'd already have bought a Provari if it weren't for the fact that I've come to love boxier designs. Hell, I'd settle for an octagonal Provari -- just make it less likely to roll around, guys!

I came close to getting a box mod. I might have been happy with it. I don't know. In my early posts out here I did realise that I wanted more than once class of device.

I wanted to get my desktop device sorted first. I wanted a paperweight of a device that was stable, heavy, and, would last a lifetime with only the bells and whistles I would use. Maybe a box mod would have covered this for me. What I got steered into after the Provari people kind of got waved off was this long tall eGo twist with this 6ml tank on it that was sooooo top heavy and unstable. It was really annoying the first time it fell over.

The other thing that was annoying was trying a pass thorough device. The cord would get under papers and then they would go onto the floor, the cord would knock things off the desk as I was working. I ended up throwing the pass through device across the room, got rid of the Space Needle set up, grabbed a cigalike, when it ran out I smoked an analog. :)

I never got the box mod because the Provari fit what I was looking for in a desktop device that I have never seen a reason to look any further. It is heavy and wide enough to be stable with a large tank. It does not get in the way of work. It is easy to grab, take a few vapes and get back to work.

When you are looking for a paperweight of a device why tell the Provari people "he does not need that" and say you want something lighter.

I was going to post this over in the "I remember when..." thread but I think my point is proven better here...even with just these two options.... Welcome to the 21st century breakdown of too many good choices...

It's a different struggle. People who started vaping more than 2 years ago were struggling with getting what they needed from equipment that was in its infancy. We shared ways to fiddle with it to get it to work.

People starting today have to find the best equipment for them. Each item works better but they could give up before they find their best setup.

I think that hits it right on the head.... Look at this silly arguement of which is better? Vaping, as with everything else in this day and age...is starting to hit the "too much information" stage. Don't get me wrong...I am greatful as I said before for the groundwork all that vaped before me laid and endured so I can have all this great stuff to choose from,,,but...by the same token there's now too much to choose from. There was some study done, I wish I hadn't read so many random things on the web that day, anyways...it said that people with fewer choices supposedly were happier in life...now days it isin't the struggle to make a cartomizer work or make it threw the day on those old 510 or KR-808 batts....it's do I have enough money and time and endurance to try every new thing and every new flavor before my wallet and lungs give out!?!

The first few weeks I was vaping I had 4 T-2 tanks and 2 900 mah unregulated generic e-Go style passthrew batt's and I thought it was the greatest thing ever...now I have hardware sorting cases full of coils and cartos, a drawer of tanks and batts, and a couple handfulls of mod's and I still am distracted by new shiny things...and it is all good gear. I'd like to blame the ECF for being the "gateway forum" to my new addiction...but it's just too much fun too stop :D

The struggle to find the best vape never changed, but just like funny pictures of cats, the internet in a few short years provided a way to make it go from "to few good options" to "what do you mean I can only pick one?"....does this make sense to anyone....I have a point, but sometimes I get lost and ramble....sorry... oh yeah...

I have been eyeballing a Provari for weeks and on next payday I am finally going to be able to order the one I want and take the plunge. I want something American made that will outlast anything else I have and I believe the Provari will fill that requirement and also satisfy my like to support local business so it's a double win for me....I have never owned or used either device...but just from reading all these threads and seeing things on the web this works for me... but this simple choice of one of the other in this thread proves my point....doesn't come down to what works best for you? We're all after the same thing here...so lets pick our favorite toys and just be happy the dark ages are over...

And as always...Happy Vaping! :toast:

What is funny out here on the forum and how recommendations seem to work is when I said I wanted something heavy and stable people would try and steer me away from that telling me it was heavy. That is what I wanted....heavy.

Then when I am looking for something small people try and push me to larger telling me it is not big enough or that I will not like something small and I should get a PV :( I had already posted that I have a larger device.

I have beside the desk 14 of what I call medium sized devices that do not match perfectly what I want. I am afraid to see what people will tell me if I say something like the over all length cannot exceed 6 inches nor the overall diameter needs to be 16mm or under. I think someone will tell me that is all wrong and that I need something I already have, someone will post a fasttech link, tell me I need this largest device ever built or will tell me I want an SD keyring.

OMG
I didn't mean to offend anyone make them mad or put down a mod.
And If I posted telling someone to get a ProVari and they said a mod under $100 Then I screwed up and didn't read that.
You can also go threw my post an see how many times I post the MVP for $39.99 is a heck of a deal.

When someone ask me what mod to Buy I link the ProVari WHY Because I know for a fact it works! And when I say that it's not because it's Volts, watts, batteries, or made in the USA. It's simple, IT STOP ME FROM SMOKING ANALOGS, plus 3 others in my family.
I can't say that about any other mod. But I can say the other 7 Mods I got wouldn't of stopped me from Analogs. Why Well No. 1 is they don't have the throat hit my ProVari does. And they all have their little bugs in them.

Example:
My MVP, I got over a dozen tanks and only 2 of them work on it with out me pulling the pin down on them and even that sometimes don't get them to work. But I don't bad mouth it. I still like it.
Now speaking for myself and not OTHERS these Bugs my other mods have would of sent me back to analogs. Because I would of needed something to smoke while I was trying to get them to work. Now I am sorry if that offends people but that's the sad truth.
And again I do like Innokin, I just take their little bugs and remember I got them cheap.

Now I know some people like to sit around the Forums waiting to pounce on something they disagree with or take offence too. So I try to be careful of what I say and post. Take my story'
OK I can see some people's point that they thought I was making fun of my dad for liking a MVP over a ProVari but it really wasn't about the Mods it was suppose to be about me saving money. I guess I shouldn't have named the mods and that would of went over better. For this I am Sorry :(
Notice Not One person notice or said anything about me getting some else to try Vaping. The only reason my Dad's friend got a MVP is Because of me, and I told her I would buy it off her if she hated it.
And This is the Tread I was talking about when I originally told this story.
NOTICE how I explain to the newbie about the PRICE not that the ProVari is Better and my dad is stupid for wanting a MVP over a ProVari.

Congrats on 30 Days :)

Well just remember every time hubby Vapes is one less Analog hubby smokes. :)

If e-cig not working first thing I would suggest is up his nicotine. I started out with 24mg nicotine and now I'm down to 18mg.

I am not sure what Mods / e-cigs you use but, I think the mod a person uses is important too. Take the little eGo battery mods.
I think the little eGo e-cig thingy is ok But, ME personally, I would of never stopped smoking with one of them. I can list the reasons why but I don't want to offend people that use them and turn your tread in to a debate.
So I just say This,
Men need Cool :2cool:
Something they won't hide when their friends see them lol I am sorry I don't feel to manly holding my eGo C-Twist
Now I feel more comfortable holding my Manly iTaste 134 lol.
People are going to stare or at least check you out when your Vaping since Vaping is new to a lot of people. Now when I first started vaping this was hard for me to get used too. I started out on a ProVari, full size, extended cap, Because the guys that turned me on to vaping all said that they got Mini's for their Wives so I assumed that Mini's was like the women's version of ProVari LOL yea I know I was a bigger noob then, then I am now. :(
But now I feel more comfortable vaping in public and I am ordering a MINI!!!

Now a quick story for ya,
I got my dad a ProVari, (last month) and the other day I ordered a MVP 2 for a friend of his. So today it came in the mail and I took it to my dad to give to his friend. My dad loved the MVP 2 so much he wanted to trade his ProVari for it. LOL Why Cause to him it seemed Cooler then his ProVari!
In case you didn't know the ProVari kit is $209.95 and the MVP 2 Kit is $39.99.
I wish I would of knew that he would of been happier with the $40 one over the $210 one :glare:

But anyways what I am trying to say maybe get him something that he likes so much he don't want to put it down.

Just trying to Help :)

And I guess I got so hung up on the MVP being cooler to my dad then his ProVari I just screwed up the whole Tread I posted.
I have a habit of typing half of what my Brain thinks I typed :(

ANYWAYS I AM SORRY FOR OFFENDING ANY MVP OWNERS OR ANYONE ELSE

What you really need is a big, small, heavy ,stealth, regulated, mechanical, Tube box , telescoping, 510, 801, side activated bottom button, e-pipe, bottom feeder, that is capable of handling SUB high voltage correct?

Provari is a good battery but I doubt I would give up my first born like some on here would. It really gets a little over the top with the fanboys. I have one and I like it but enough is enough.

If every thread didn't turn into a provari bash fest you wouldn't be tired of the fanboys. My favorite is why isn't a provari VW? What does it matter? I have 2 provari's a darwin a kick and they all vape the same at the same voltage. My opinion is not having VW is a deal breaker for those who are not good at math :pop:

Oh, was I doing it wrong to try and get some of those features over three different types of devices? You said it was heavy but it is also light at the same time?

You are right, I should have been looking for a device that was both small and large in the same package, also would see if there is something that heavier than 9 ounces when filled and with a battery in it and also less then .4 ounces filled.

My FIRST battery after 808 Bloogs was a MVP2. I LOVED it! It helped me quit smoking. I STILL love it!!

Then I got a used Provari. 1 hour after getting it, I was browsing ProVape's site for a brand new Provari.

Provari and MVP2 really go hand in hand, they are different, but both fantastic. People that say they are the same vape don't own a Provari. This isn't about money... get real, we were all smokers. A Provari costs a few months worth of cigarettes for most people. Then you can use it for years. It's expensive, but you aren't running out to buy it for no reason... you aren't smoking anymore, and you're buying it with cig money. Technically, neither system costs you anything if you would have been smoking instead.

The MVP2 is the greatest travel device EVER. But you can't even get close to the vapor and taste... using the same tank with the same juice from a MVP2 to a Provari. It's like comparing the taste of an ultralight to a filterless camel in cigarette terms, but of course, you control the nicotine. The difference is the flavor and density of vapor, not just quantity, from the exact same juice/tank.

Since people are talking about Box mods, I really like my VTR / self defense weapon. I got it off eBay for around $80 and I think it was well worth it. I think it's there most solid mod that Innokin makes. Only bad thing is it's limited to the tanks you can use on it.
Other words my Kir Fanis tanks won't fit it :(

I got a VTR in the coop... haven't gotten it yet, but can't wait!!! I like box mods too... that's why I bought the MVP first. But... I will never not like my Provari. And I think those who hate on it should just buy one and find out why people are so crazy about them. There has to be a reason right?

I thought what you were trying to say the first time was perfectly clear! And it was amusing! Personally, I think it's interesting how people repeatedly get into kind of heated arguments over what is the best mod!

Sooooo....is your dad going to keep the Provari or the MVP?? I'm holding my breath for the answer!! LOL!

Provari users seem to go through life looking down on all vapers who don't own a Provari and wondering how this can be so. Non Provari users seem to go through life without giving Provari's a second's thought.

I wonder who has the better deal here :)

I have and use a lot of non-Provari stuff. I don't look down on non-Provari users because I am not always one, sometimes I am on other things. Why do you feel that all the Provari users look down on users of other devices? There are probably some Provari users that do that but they all don't. It looks like to me you paint with a really wide brush.

The form factor of the MVP is very nice for some of us who prefer "box mod". They just seem to fit the hand comfortably, easy thumb button control, size of a pack of smokes or smaller, familiar size and shape...:2cool:

We can leave the women's bedroom pleasers to the rest of you....:laugh::laugh:

What about those of us that like both? I would have never thought I would like a box style but I love my MVP2! Have not had the pleasure of owning a provari yet but I will. Then I will have the best of both worlds. Now don't go and say the MVP2 is not the best, it is to me.;)
