MVP 2 in the mail....anything I need to know about maintenance/performance/storage

Greetings,

New to the forum but have been doing some reading in here for a while now.

I just ordered the MVP 2 and I am wondering if theres anything I should know from some experienced MVP users?

I currently am using eGo Twist batteries and simple CE4 clearomizers and was wanting something a little different without jumping too far ahead of myself.

If anybody has some advice (what clearomizers/tanks work well with it) , tips and tricks, maintenance/performance (not quite sure I know what VW is...how hot the coil burns????) info that would be greatly appreciated,

bryanX :vapor:

Welome! The iClears that came with my MVP 2 werent bad, but after a month or so i decided to upgrade. The Nautilus tank from Aspire is wonderful on it. I suppose the mini Nautilus would be fine also, I just prefer the larger capacity tank. With a full tank and a charged up MVP you can get a few days hassle free vaping before you even have to monkey with it.

I like using Evods with mine. Nice compact package that fits in my pockets easily, the black Evod matches my black MVP, and they work well. Though I have a couple black ET-S clearos with the new BVC coils coming tomorrow, we'll see if they replace the Evods or not. I've found most fruit/dessert/pastry type flavors have the best flavor with it set at 7-7.5 watts, tobacco flavors at 8.5-9 watts. Every time I try a new flavor I mess around with the settings and always end up keeping it at those two. It's best not to completely drain the battery. Charge when the battery meter reads 3.7-3.8 volts, or when the indicator light turns yellow.

I have had my MVP 2 a little over 2 months now. Only let it get into the yellow zone once. (charge it every nite).
The thing is GREAT. It just works. I take it everywhere I go and it is always charged and ready for full on vaping. Not much you have to do to it.

As far as what to put on it. I have tried SMOK GBCs (GREAT for the $$) a Protank Mini 3 (is ok) a full size Nautilus as well as a Nautilus Mini.

By far the best for me has been the Nautilus Mini. The smaller coil chamber makes the flavor way better. Yes it DOES hold less juice than the regular Nautilus but it is worth it.
NOTE: even when you put the Minis new vertical coil head in the regular big Nautilus it still doesn't have the same flavor.

The GBCs are now my backup / quick flavor change options (for when I get bored with what I have in the Mini). I run them on my old Vision Spinner batteries. They are getting used less and less though as I start to get more and more addicted to the mini/MVP combo.

Good Luck!

Don't make the stupid mistake I made with my MVP.
Read all the advice on charging before it drains and shuts itself off and plugged into USB when it got down to 3.6.
Not sure if I turned it off before putting it on charge or it shut itself off. Left it for a couple of hours and put my Nautilus tank back on and pressed the 'go' button.
Nothing happened ..suckin' my lungs out and cursing .. first charge and I thought I'd blown it somehow.
Watched a few more video reviews to see if anyone else had the same problem and was thinking its time to find the returns page on Amazon where I made the purchase.

It helps to make sure its TURNED ON before wasting time and lung power. :D

MVP2 is easy to maintain and a real tough mod. I clean the connector with a qtip everytime I take a tank off. Don't screw your tanks down real tight or you can push the contact post into the unit and some tanks won't fire until you pry it back up. Just snug a tank on and no more.

Here are some stats from my oldest MVP...
556 puffs over 2.5 days and 7mls of ejuice to get to the YELLOW light on the fire button. I vape at 8W for the most part. My advice is to not let it get to yellow but to charge it daily if you can. Supposed to get longer life out of the unit.

Not much too know with your Mvp. Its a solid device for starting out to vape. Tghe charge will last at least 1 day maybe more depending on usage but its a tank. The
device itself is very durable and scratch resistant. I have dropped mine so many times (10 months) and no marks show up at all. I have however broke a few

atomizers when dropped so watch out for that. As charge has gone I just charge it when it gets to red. I don;t know about the science of batteries greatly so not sure

if that is bad or not in terms of battery life. Either way it holds its charge very well after 10 months. Since you are buying the mvp I would imagine you will buy more

at some point too as its just the road it leads you. The only problem I have had in all that time is that the threads have been stripped so I had to buy a 510 to 510

connector ( can be bought on fasttech etc for less that 2 dollars). Congrats on your new MVP anyway. Its not hard once you get it to work it out.

Wonder if anyone can help me. I'm new to vaping...just started on Tuesday. As a matter of fact, this is the first 5 days without tobacco in 25 years. I'm struggling but hanging in there. I have a question about the Itaste MVP. I'm not sure what the numbers should be set on. I'm using Volt Cappuccino and NicQuid Gen 7 flavors of juice. Thanks for the help.

Set it to power (or watt) mode.

Dial it down to the minimum setting and try it. Start nudging it up until it starts to get that harsh taste then back it back down a notch or two.

I have found that with my Nautilus Mini if I chain vape too hard (like when I am dialing in the wattage on a new head or new juice) the body can heat up a bit. This causes the juice to get thinner which can change the way the thing hits. SO... sometimes once you think you have it dialed in JUST RIGHT 5 minutes later when it cools down you might have to tweak it again a time or two.

Don't know how I ever got by without VV/VW adjustments before. LOL ALso is why I can't ever see myself goin in on a mech mod setup

Thanks all for the info, appreciate it.
I have a protank mini in the mail as well a swell of others to test out. I have been looking at the Nautilus tanks....might be the next order.

When you turn off the MVP does the battery still drain, anyone know?
if you leave it plugged in even after it's fully charged, does it hurt the battery?...what do you think/know?

Don't make the stupid mistake I made with my MVP.

Haha had a good chuckle...did that a few times with my eGo Twist, wasn't turned on and thought it was, my heart skipped a beat til i noticed what was up LOL.

The mvp2 has both vv and vw; 2 different ways you can control how hot the coil burns.

1) Why would you EVER turn off your MVP?! :)
2) If your MVP is charged why would you EVER leave it on the charger for more than 30 seconds before vaping it?! :)

in voltage mode set it to 3.7 and try it; adjust up or down from there.
in wattage mode start at the lowest setting and adjust up.

Easy way to prevent this is using the beauty ring / thread cover. Don't thread the cover all the way down, leave it a couple turns loose, connect your tank and check the ohms, if it registers you're good to go. If it says NON, tighten the beauty ring another 1/2 turn, just enough to make contact. The ring will keep your tank from pushing the pin too far in to make contact.

Hey Bryan!
MVPs will serve you well if you are a beginner and if you're looking for an upgrade from ego's. These things are built too last so unless you're a complete klutz I wouldn't worry too much about maintenance. The Aspire Nautilus Mini glassomizer is all the rage right within the vaping community. It has great flavor because of the intricate coil heads and it has adjustable airflow to suit your needs. Definitely stick with Aspire made products when purchasing tanks. I think the Nautilus and the Nautilus Mini are the best it'll ever get; don't waste your money on ANYTHING made by Kanger.
As with VW (Variable Wattage) the MVP allows you to adjust how many watts you'd like to vape at. For more detailed information on voltage and wattage, refer to Rip Trippers' video on youtube.

Happy Vaping!
Eddie

I just ordered my second MVP 2. I use the protank 2 on it. It's easy and it works. I have a provari that needs to go back and it was a little too expensive so I went back to the MVP2. I would say the only advice is to let the battery run at least into yellow. They only have a finite number of charges to them. You will love it.
